Rogue, I take it you were at the Rent movie premiere. There were some posts about Adam going across the street and signing autographs, I remember.

Rogue, I had no idea that you were at the premiere.
Chloe, I remember you saying that you were a Joni Mitchell fan a little while ago. Do you have any song suggestions? I've been listening to her lately and really enjoy her music, along with Carole King's music. I guess I'm turning into an old timer.
Yep. It was a random last minute thing, but it was very fun. And cold.
People went insane when his...publicist (I think) asked "Are you ready for Adam Pascal?". I really thought people were going to faint by the way they were reacting.
Everyone except Anthony, Rosario, and Tracie came over...from what I can remember.
That's really cool... gorgeous picture, Rogue.

Did everyone come over to sign autographs and then hit the red carpet?
I walked by there later just to get a feeling for it. There still seemed to be things happening in the press tent but none of the actors were outside. I hope it was warm in there, because all the ladies were dressed more for a summer evening than a freezing night.
I'm glad you asked, Lexi. My very favorite album of hers is Blue, and I'd recommend any song from there. Here's a list:
All I Want
I am on a lonely road and I am traveling
looking for the key to set me free
Oh the jealousy, the greed is the unraveling
It's the unraveling
and it undoes all the joy that could be
My Old Man
Little Green
Carey
Blue
California
This Flight Tonight
You got the touch so gentle and sweet
But you've got that look so critical
I can't talk to you baby
I get so weak
River
A Case of You
The Last Time I Saw Richard
The last time I saw Richard was Detroit in '68
and he told me all romantics meet the same fate someday
cynical and drunk and boring someone in some dark cafe
Also, Cactus Tree from her first, self-titled album is an incredibly haunting song.

That's a really cool picture, rogue.
Rogue, it's really cool that you went to the premiere. I mst admit, I am a tad bit jealous.

Thanks for your suggestions, Chloe. I probably should just buy Blue. I dissuade myself from buying most albums because songs are so readily available online, but when I think of how much money I waste on food and miscellaneous purchases, it's a crime to think of how much I'm ripping off the artists.
I've also been listening to a lot of Elton lately. I know you said that you're quite a fan of him as well. To keep this somewhat on topic, I think Adam's cover of Someone Saved My Life Tonight is actually better than the original and probably one of the few from that benefit that actually topped the original song.

Most of them, like, lingered at the entrance for a few seconds to a minutes (which was very crowded) and then came over. The only person who came straight out of their car right to the other side of the street was Adam. (This is from what I can remembered, I may be wrong though).
Thank you Elphie and Sweet! My sister was right in front of me, so I gave the better camera. She actually gave me the autographs she got to put in my room. She's sweet.
Sorry, my DSL was down for a while.
Your sister sounds like a doll, Rogue.
Lexi, with Elton's albums it's almost always a case of me loving two or three songs, liking most of the rest, and not being able to listen to a couple. I think a lot of his fans feel the same. The catch is, everyone's set of is different. In some cases you can completely switch one person's "can't listen to" with another person's favorites. It's bizarre. Anyway, Elton's version of Someone Saved My Life Tonight is so embedded in my head that it's hard to hear anyone else's. I'm going to have to listen to Adam's again, because the first time was just too strange for me.
I was watching a video online yesterday of Adam in Aida. I was also reading the comments and I noticed that someone said, "Why hasn't Adam done Wicked? He would be a terrific Fieryo" When I first read this, I was a little shocked, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it was kinda true. What do you guys think about this?

*hugs Adam thread* I think it's a debatable role. As much as I love Adam (and we all do), I don't really think he fits the role that much. His voice is to rocker-ish for Fiyero in my opinion. However he would look darn good in those white pants if I do say so myself. Also, I think he was in talks for Fiyero at one point, but turned it down.
So glad to see you back here, Poni!

Hi Ponine! I'm Lexi. I always feel like such an intruder when the old timers post.
Bwdaygirl, where is the "sex, it's good" quote from in your signature? I always found it amusing, but never thought to ask where it's actually from.
I'm not a Wicked fan in general, especially not of Fiyero's songs, so I'm glad he hasn't played the role. Didn't he say quite a long time ago that he was thinking over the opportunity to play the role? I'd imagine that if he were interested in the role, he would have played it at some point already instead of moving to California.
I haven't seen Wicked yet (October 22 is only 3 1/2 months away ), but from the OCR Fiyero does not have a large enough role for what I would like Adam to be in. Fiyero also doesn't seem to have a lot of substance. He's just kinda there. Again this is only what I know from the book and the OCR.
For anyone who didn't notice the BWW article or Emcee's post on the main board, Adam has added another show in LA, on July 28. A little while ago I saw a post on AP Online that said Ticketmaster was showing only 13 seats left for the original date. Go Adam!
Also just saw from OBB on LJ that the shows will indeed feature Larry Edoff as well.
I don't know if everybody knows, but Adam has added another night in LA, July 28, at the same theater. Yay!

I guess we saw it at the same time, Angela!
Fiyero is such a blah role.... I hope that Adam ends up doing something more challenging (and interesting) than that. The one aspect that I wasn't thrilled with in Wicked is that they completely zapped everything that made Fiyero interesting in the book to fit in with the revised plotline.
I don't know Wicked, but since everyone seems to agree that it's not a good role, I hope he doesn't do it. He was mulling over the original offer when the Rent movie came up, so here's hoping for another great surprise. I really want to see him in a role where he can put the death stare to good use. Not necessarily a villain, but a character with some edge.

Ashley's right. Not only does the character get weak songs, but the character himself is rather bland and lacking depth. Granted, some hardcore Wicked fans may beg to differ. I suppose a stint in Wicked would give him some new fans, although I'm not exactly sure if anyone wants to see him swarmed by the Wicked groupies. He might have a different take on that, considering fans are fans. I really, really don't think he's considering the part anymore, though.
I also hope Adam has a new setlist for the California shows. My feelings about the songs aside, it would be great to hear the acoustic versions of some other songs (provided that someone, uh, gets audio).
I just got home from the street fair after a long day at work. There were so many beautiful things there, but most everything was so expensive. I guess you get what you pay for, but I wish I could afford so much of it! I also stopped in a used book store that had nearly every single Newsweek and Time issue from the late 90s. Geek that I am, I went through all of the Newsweeks to see if the 1996 Rent one was in there -- no dice.

Aww that stinks, but I'm glad you had fun at the fair nonetheless!
-Yay for a new date added!
-The death stare is greatly missed.
-I agree about the Wicked fans. It would be interesting to see how Adam would handle all the crazy fangirls/boys.
