I have to download the audio Lexi posted, still. I only watched the videos once before the site stopped working, and I'm horrible at trying to figure out lyrics. I'm always wrong!

The CD can't come out fast enough. :) I do wonder what he's going to call both the song and the album.
Emcee, what's your signature from?
It always helps to have lips to read, so check your PMs.
It will be pretty funny if the lyric booklet ends up bearing little relation to what I've been posting.
Sweeney
I'm curious about the title, as well. I remember how excited people were when they released the title of Civilian.
"Just As I Am" comes to mind as an appropriate title since he seems to be truly baring his soul in these songs, but it's not the best song of the three, in my opinion, and also is unfortunately the same title as an evangelical hymn that was sung at Billy Graham rallies a lot. Come to think of it, I wonder if that's prejudicing me against that song.

I didn't think it was the best of the three, either, and I didn't know that about Billy Graham. :) I thought the one for Cybele was best, and then the Single Drop of You one.
I was enormously taken with Cybele's song from the time I first heard it. I couldn't get it out of my head. Then I started listening to A Single Drop, and it's become sort of equal in my mind to the first one. They're both amazing. I've only listened to Just As I Am once, so maybe I'll feel differently once I've given it more of a chance.

Whoa, your signature is seriously from Sweeney? I guess that goes to show how I only listen to about 50% of the album.
I suppose deciding a title based upon the titles of three of the album's songs seems a bit premature, but I hope he goes with something that isn't necessarily just the title of one of the songs.
I didn't associate the title of Just As I Am with Billy Graham but rather Nirvana's Come As You Are. I'm not sure how I made that connection.
I'm pretty sure neither of you have ever been to a Billy Graham rally. I was taken to one as a child, and my parents also watched him on TV sometimes. That hymn would be sung after Billy invited audience members to come forward to declare their conversion.
Come As You Are is pretty close, actually, except in what it represents.
I'd like an original title that summarized the album too.

Yeah, can't say that I have. I'm sorry that you were put through that torture as a child. That doesn't sound healthy in the slightest. I think it really is the weakest of the new songs, though, so at least you're not being turned off from something too amazing. It doesn't have the musical complexity of A Single Drop or the extreme putting-it-all-on-the-table openness of the first song.
That's interesting how we all associate titles and songs with varying things, though. I always do that with songs and seasons.
It was a little torturous, but mostly a not particularly helpful way to learn about life. I can really relate to the lines about that in the song.
I need to do some errands - good chatting with you all.
Isn't it Not While I'm Around Em, if so then it's one of the last few songs Lexi. Patti sings those lyrics.
I still haven't listened to Adam's songs. My friends just left, mostly we just stayed up talking about our one "friend" who's a major jerk.

I... don't like that song. It was my first introduction to Sweeney and kind of actually left me indifferent to the show for a while.
I know, blasphemy!
I think it's from Mrs. Lovett's first act song "Wait." It's not one of the songs I find myself listening to often, although it does make for a cool signature quote.
Right, she's talking to Sweeney not Mano. I forgot. Wait does make more sense, when listening to the lyrics. I was trying to figure out how the lyrics fit into NWIA. I actually thought Mano was a girl the first time I heard Not While I'm Around. I also thought a lot of things that weren't true about Sweeney, I was very confused for a bit.
Hi all. I just got back home. No more beach.
I have entirely too many pictures from the week, so sorry to all my Facebook friends that will have to sort through 100 pictures of my cousin, my sister and me acting weird.
My friend just came back from Australia and brought her cd of over 250 pictures to show us. There were a lot of pictures of the same beaches over and over again.
Heh. I honestly only have a few of the beach itself. I didn't really take my camera down often because the air was so moist that it would fog up the lense almost immediately, and also I was worried about the sand getting into it. And there really wasn't much to take pictures of; I sat in the same spot every day and we didn't have boats or jumping dolphins or anything out of the ordinary to warrant multiple pictures.
Um, sorry for babbling. :-P I'm in a chatty mood.
Don't worry, it's not like anyone else here isn't chatty :-P. Her pictures were nice but when you have 250+ to share the multiples of the same beach could be taken out. The cd kept freezing my laptop.
Some of you probably saw this already, but Larry Edoff posted this on his site:
Larry is in Los Angeles for the month of July working with Adam Pascal, writing material for a new CD. Adam and Larry will be touring in the fall to support the new release. Stay tuned to this website for updates!
The big question is, did they actually finish the CD, or just get started on it?

Hey, how is everyone's night going?
waayy too late but..
Nia- thanks for the comment on the sig. Have you ever seen those raisens who sing and dance? They scare me.
Maybe it's another one and we won't have to wait years between releases anymore. I know this is wishful thinking, but a girl can dream.

Here's to hoping they didn't write just three songs!

Ohh..I hope it will be released!
..soon.
I'm confused because it sounds like they've just started writing the CD, while also expecting it to be released shortly.
By the way, I sent out a PM to several people concerning the new songs. If you got one and didn't need it, sorry to clog up your Inbox! But if you haven't heard the songs, let me know and I'll send it to you also.
Is that Johnny Depp in his 21 Jump Street days, Alex?
