Oh. My. GOD. I am going to be SO in shape by the end of this year. At the moment, though, my legs are KILLING me. Psychology went great, and listen to this: no exams or midterms! Or reseach papers! Woooo! I spent more money on books today, too, but I have almost everything I need now.

Tests after each unit (there are six altogether)... marks are based on those, and on work we'll do in tutorials. Sounds good, no?

Wow, that sounds lovely.

One of my classes has no exams, but three papers that will act as take-home exams. None of them are cumulative. That's so much easier than the stanard midter/final system.

I agree. My prof (who is actually from my hometown!) said they'd rather have us learn all of the information and learn it well, as opposed to cramming it all in our heads for a giant exam at the end of the year.

Ooh, we also get the change to participate in research that the PhD students are doing. And for each lab we're involved with, we get one whole point added right onto our mark at the end of the year! Sounds good to me!

I've always hated teachers who teach just so the students can take an exam; that shouldn't be the purpose. My courses aren't very exam-heavy this year, for which I'm glad.

I've only had one class so far, so I don't know if mine are the same, but I can hope!

I met up with three different people at three different places to buy books from them. I feel like I've been making drug deals or something! But I got Angels in America, finally! I can't wait to read it!!

Our book-buying thing is similar, and yes, they feel like shady drug deals! I sold a few of mine to a friend, though - less shady.

That reminds me... I have a big box full of books that I need to get rid of! They're all from one course last year, and most of them are being used again, so I'm thinking I'll just make some posters and take them over to the mini-campus where the class is held. I'll probably only make a couple hundred bucks, but that's groceries for a couple weeks! I definitely paid way too much for them last year.

I know I'll love AiA! The spine isn't even broken on the book. $12!

My friend who bought the books is taking the same class I took last semester, but the professor is only using three of the same books.

Is it both plays in one book, with the movie design on the cover?

yay! It's the original script, right? Not the screenplay? I think it is. My copy of Perestroika is so broken that I think I have to buy a new one, but the individual ones are getting harder to find, so I'll probably get the two-in-one.

Being a freshman sucks. I hate being looked down upon by everyone. And I hate gym too!!
