Do you like the kids your sitting?
I've never sat for this kid before. He and his mom just moved here. He seems very...active. But sweet.

Well, have fun! I have to go do my laundry while I'm still feelinf somewhat motivated. Talk to you later!
See ya! *waves*
*pets thread*
bye, Atrias!
I nearly had a heart-attack a minute ago. I was looking for it and somehow my eyes slid past it on the first page and I kept going back pages and I was on page five and I was like "Oh my gosh, where the heck is the thread??!! It hasn't been neglected THAT long!" Then I went back and found it on page one. *phew*

Good evening, Elphie! What are you up to?
I am currently womanning the desk at the Ronald McDonald House. Aswering phones, etc, etc.
Also working on my application to the University of Chicago. And deciding whether or not I should take notes on Ch.11 of my Bio book.
How about you, Allie?

Laundry! I have to go grab the last load out of the dryer in a second. THEN I have to do up a cover letter (I HAAAATE doing those) for a job application. Not a fun night for me, I'm afraid.
Laundry!How fun!
God, I don't even know what cover letters ARE. That's probably not a good sign.
How's the roommate?

No, not a good sign, hehe. A cover letter is just a short letter that you send with your resumé, stating how you heard of the job, and basically why you're the best person for it!
The roommate is gone to work for the evening. I'm kind of scared, because I'm going home for the weekend, and we're getting a "tropical storm"... we just got a letter under our door telling us to make sure we have our windows firmly shut, and keep some towels handy in case it leaks. I won't be here! And to make matters worse, my BED is right under the window! I'm scared I'm going to lose everything in my room. We are, after all, on the 20th floor!
Oh, so THAT'S what those are. :-P Good to know.
Yikes! That doesn't sound good. I didn't even know Canada had tropical stroms like that. Well, I guess I did, but when you think "Canada," "tropical storm" isn't usually what pops to mind. I'm sure everything will be fine. People always make it out to be wrose than it is. Well, usually. So, you're supposed to block your window cracks with towels? If you're really worried about debris or something, cover your widows with cardboard. I think that's what you're supposed to do. But I'm sure all will be fine. Your roommate won't be there either?

We had Hurricane Juan two years ago this month, and it did serious damage in the city here. Not really, really serious, considering, but the power was out for over a week, and there were trees down all over the place. THEN that winter, we had a huge snowstorm that was dubbed "White Juan". The snow was over the doors of a lot of places, and there were pictures in the paper of people skiing to work and such.
My roommate will be here this weekend, yes. I'll set out some towels, I guess, and get her to check my room every once in awhile. Maybe I should give her my home number, too, just in case. GAH, I hate storms.
Ohhh right. I forgot you had separate rooms. May I ask where in Canada you are? You can pm me if you like. My mom's from Winnipeg, and we have friends in Toronto, so I like to play geography.
I would give her your home number if I were you, and just ask her to call you if anything bad happens. She's nice enough to so that, right?
Well, I'm about to head home. I'll probably be back online in about 10 minutes or so.

See you in 10, Elphie!
I'm from Nova Scotia, Elphie. Going to school in Halifax. So, not close to your family or friends!
Here I am! So it was a little closer to fifteen...
Ooh, Nova Scotia! We went to Prince Edward Island when I was 9 or 10. Is that in Nova Scotia? I know it's pretty close to Halifax, right? *is ashamed of lack of knowledge of Canadian geography* Everything I know about that area I learned from Anne of Green Gables.
I'm back! And I've got DOUGHNUTS!!!

Mmm, doughnuts!
PEI isn't in Nova Scotia, Elphie, but it IS close. Did you take the bridge or the ferry? I can't think of how old the bridge is... you probably took the ferry. In that case, you were in Nova Scotia!
Doughnuts!! Are they Krispy Kreme?
Umm, I think we flew there, Allie. *scratches head* DO you have to fly to Nova Scotia to get to PEI? I don't remember. It was a long time ago.

I think you might... I don't think PEI has an airport. Wait. It MUST. Charlottetown is a big city. You could have flown there. I have no idea! I hope you enjoyed the Maritimes, though, Elphie!
We had a great time! My only complaint was that there were too many mosquitos, but we have lots of mosquitos here, too.

Ugh, mosquitos! They're especially bad when they're in your bedroom at night, and buzz right past your ear. Eek, I just got a shiver thinking about it!
My cover letter is not going well. I don't particularly WANT a job this year, since I've a feeling my classes are going to get more difficult in the near future, but the extra money would be so helpful.
Yes, Krispy Kreme. One short of a dozen now, get 'em while they last.
Canada. I must say that I, too, know all of my Canadian history from Anne of Green Gables. Well, that and Degrassi. It's interesting to hear about it!
Good luck with the cover letter, Allie!

*takes a doughnut* UGH. Cover letter = bad, very bad.
Yay for Anne! I've always wanted to play her in the musical! I don't think I'm petite enough.
*blinks* There's a musical?
