YES!! They've been putting in on for years on the Island. I've never seen it, but I've always wanted to!

Woah...I always liked that version that they used to show on PBS. I've got it on VHS. Is the musical only done in Canada?

I love the ones they play on PBS. Meagan Follows is so great.

I think they might actually only put on the show at that particular theatre. There was a musical of Emily of New Moon (another LM Montgomery novel) a few years ago, too.

We have the "cast recording" of the musical. It's cute!

*grabs a Krispy Kreme* mmmm, heaven. Attack of the Roommonster! (lawnmowers now included!)

Musquitos suck.

What's the job you're applying for?

I really should read the last part of the series. I never got beyond Anne of Windy Poplars. Didn't they take some real liberties in the tv version of Anne of Avonlea. I also remember that there was an animated series a couple of years ago.

Yes, the "Anne of Avonlea" movie is a mixture of two or three of the books. I read all of them. A looong time ago.

Gah, GREAT movies. Meagan Follows is amazing.

Then there was a WWI thing, wasn't there? I remember seeing part of it and getting really freaked. I was younger then. I only remember seeing Meagan Follows in one other thing. I was confused because she was blonde.

I only watched one or two episodes of the animated one. Not a big fan.

I'm applying to be a student archivist, which is part of what I did this summer. My boss actually forwarded the job posting to me, and said he would give me a really good reference. It's a 10 hour a week job, which is as much as I think I could handle, being a full-time student, too. And it pays really well. But I just know that my profs are all going to throw papers at us at the same time, and then I'm just going to lose it, and perhaps have some sort of a mental breakdown. Attack of the Roommonster! After what happened last year, I don't think I could handle another breakdown!

Yeah, the WWI thing was...wierd.

Oooh, student archivist. That sounds interesting. I'm sure you'll be fine. Even though I'm about to have a nervous breakdown as well. I just got nominated for this thing today and the application is due Oct 3. AHHHHHHHH. *melts into puddle of anxiety*

Elphie, what were you nominated for?

Allie, have you learned anything from last year that will help you handle this semester?

It's called the Morehead Scholarship, and basically it's a free ride to UNC Chapel Hill, plus other stuff and it's very prestigious and very selective. They pick about 25 people from NC and 25 from the rest of the world or something. So now I am even more stressed out.

What happened last year, Allie?

Wow, Elphie. Good luck with that. Are you interested in Chapel Hill? I think I've heard good things.

Got any plain glazed doughnuts?

I'll proof read, Marlene. I'm odd and actually love doing stuff like that. How long is it?

Thanks, guys. UNC-CH is a very good school, and I'm applying there sort of as my 'safety' and as the only in-state school I'm applying to. If I get this scholarship (I won't. I'm really not what they are looking for, I don't think.) I might end up there, even though I want out. But it wouldn't be so horrible, I guess. I'll prbably end up there anyway, because of money issues if nothing else.

I think that last year, I just got so overwhelmed with everything that I just kind of stopped. Doing ANYTHING, basically. I just didn't want to deal with it. I got really behind, I hated the program I was in, but I was so... stubborn, I guess, that I didn't want to admit what was going on, or ask for help. THAT was the wrong thing to do. And then everything came down at once, and I had to deal with all this crap at once, and it was just an all-around AWFUL situation. And then - AND THEN - after I told my best friend the whole thing, he decided to tell me he was gay. Now he realizes that was probably NOT the best time. It took me awhile to process, what with all of my own stuff going on. Anyway, that's the quick rundown of Allie's Not-So-Great Year at University!

This year, I've written down the names of all the TA's and tutors in all my classes, and I have email addresses, and I plan to use them if I need to. As they all said, that's what they're there for! I really like the subject matter in all of my courses (except the sciencey bits in psych, but that's only the first unit!), and I just think this is going to be a good year. I FEEL it. As long as nobody has any bombshells for me, I think I'll be good. And, as organized as I am, I think I may need to take a time management workshop. I know they offer them here. I think it would be really beneficial.

*takes a doughnut* I need one of these, now!

It looks like you're ready for this year, Allie. I think you'll do fine too.

Elphie, that's almost EXACTLY what will/is going to happen/is happening with me.
