The Year of Anticipation

Oooh, I want to see it! I'm keeping my eye on the LiveJournal community, because they've been pretty goos about stuff like this. My fingers are crossed that someone will upload the WB show thing on Friday that Anthony's on, and the Starz show. Thank goodness for the internet!

The Year of Anticipation

oh, I'm SURE those will end up online. I have the TV on in the background, and I'll hear the music and think I'm hallucinating. It's crazy.

Maybe I should go turn mine on and face it towards the bedroom door!

I did, and I just caught Rosario Dawson on E-Talk Daily! They were talking about fashion, and she said she liked playing around and trying stuff on for Mimi. And they showed the snow kiss. *sigh*

The Year of Anticipation

eeeeee, snow kiss! Oh, I'm so incoherent, I love it.

SO great!

I've only seen TWO trailers on TV. Once each. I need to watch more TV!

The Year of Anticipation

See Em, I hafta disagree with you. It's very important to decide how you define the biggest fan of something. I suppose in our society, we think of it as the person w/ the most memorabilia or has seen something the most times or talks about it the most or screams the loudest at events, etc.

Personally I think that's only one kind of fan. I think in a way the true fans are the ones who just truly emotionally connect w/ it---care so much about it that it affects their lives, truly wants it to be good and is just really passionate about it...also attends all the RENT events she can to support the cast(which you have). I think this may be more important than the other kind of fan b/c the other kind of fan kind of begins to obsess about obsessing if that makes sense and lose sight of what they love so much about the material.

In my mind, without a doubt, you are one of the biggest Rent fans out there and deserve everything you have gotten. And the vicarious part is crazy--you wouldn't think I would at this point feel the need to live vicariously, I've certainly had a nice share of experiences seeing the movie set and chatting w/ cast members but your experience has been so captivating and to go w/ your wonderful writing, I do kind of still live vicariously through you. I think I wouldn't want to exactly hear your thoughts on the movie in a spoiler way, but more...your feelings/reaction. It's the climax of the whole year, so since we're all living vicariously through you, that's what at least I'd wanna hear about.

And heh good thing you weren't sitting where I was at the Lea Salonga concert tonight-true "balcony"-5th floor(4 sets of high stairs-ulgh), last row. It was fine, I saw and heard, but yeah, don't think you would have enjoyed it there.

The Year of Anticipation

Well, I don't think I can claim some entitlement to all of this. I never even saw the originals on stage. I don't have some... story I can tell about how Rent got me through a tough time, and it's not... a heroic relationship. It's just really important to me.

I guess maybe sometimes I feel like there are people who "deserve" this insanity more than I do, but... hell, I'm not complaining. I know that people would kill to do one of the things I've done in conjunction with this movie, and that's mind boggling to me. It's also odd to have people put my opinions so high, I guess. But thank you. The Year of Anticipation

The Year of Anticipation

The Year of Anticipation I don't think anyone can use against you the fact that you didn't see originals on bway, like me, you were 10. Even if you were able to, I don't think you would have appreciated it as much.

Eh, guess I see your point about the tough times...that's hard to say. One could argue that you're more of a fan for caring so much about it not having that connection...again, that depends on experience...I suppose there could and probably are bigger fans than you, but I think in terms of percentage or list, you're much higher than you think you are.

And it's weird I know what you mean about the undeserving thing but it's different for me. It's not about other fans deserve things more than me, it's just...everytime I talk for a little while w/ an acquaintance who's on bway and especially get a hug, all I can think is that I feel so undeserving. They're so talented and wonderful, and who the hell am I, why would they hug a nothing like me? I dunno it's weird. But yeah, it's not like I complain.

The Year of Anticipation

Well, I do feel like there's something inherently different for people who DID experience it then. It was a different show then, too.

The Year of Anticipation

Said this on the Rapp thread but suppose it's more appropriate here...

Saw a clip from Light My Candle when Rosario was on Leno...soo great and I totally am fine w/ Adam's hair b/c just for one second he put a blanket/coat around Rosario and immediately I just went aww...made me feel cuddly and you could see the chemistry early on, I already love Roger from a couple seconds in the movie(not that I wouldn't or didn't already but giving myself a blank slate that one scene gave me love...err if any of this makes sense)

The Year of Anticipation

Hi Adam lovers! I just joined BWW and I've posted a little on the Anthony board, but I thought I'd come visit here too, because Adam is amazing! I hate to start out asking for stuff, but I've never had so many Adam fans all in one place and I was thinking there must be a least one of you who knows how to get some of his older stuff, like APB and Mute? Were records made? Does anyone know where I could find them?

Can't wait for Rent, Adam is forever my # 1 Roger :)

Yay!! A new Adam lover!! Wilkomen. How are you all today?

Arrrg! I couldn't be home today, so carefully programmed my VCR to record that Starz show. I got home to find a beautifully recorded random piece of movie on the tape. Turns out the clock is wrong on the VCR. It's a good thing I have lots of other chances to get this done.

So have you all seen the new Mimi blog video? Not on the site yet, I guess, but someone found a new version of hers with I Should Tell You instead of Out Tonight - it's GORGEOUS! See the main board.

So do I watch it? I watched the last one and all the other blog videos but I feel like I'm starting to see too much.

I can't wait to find the Starz video online!

I think you should, Alix. It's not too long and very beautiful.

I'm sure On the Set will show up online shortly, but I usually can't access the formats people have been using to upload stuff like this, so I really need to tape it myself.

I almost cried when I saw the video. It's just too gorgeous.

The Year of Anticipation

I've been checking the Live Journal communities like crazy, hoping someone will get the show online!

I was watching TV just now, and I finally saw that great new trailer, with Mimi's eulogy and the new shot of Roger in his flowy-ish white shirt. VERY exciting.

Alix, I'm trying so hard not to watch/read to much prior to the 22nd. It's just so hard.

I had a random PM the other day from a poster whose name I'd never seen before asking me about Mute and APB recordings. A search of all three boards showed no posting history at all.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.
