It's one of a few instances where he doesn't sound so distinct; like, in What You Own, on "the filmmaker can not see..." that barely sounds like him.
I have a lot of trouble picking out the individual voices in "Will I?" The only one I can usually identify is Rosario's.
Are you sure Rosario is in "Will I?"...?
To match up the voices in that song, I remember the progression. First, It's Aaron Lohr who gets up and sings. Then it's the rest of the men with AIDS. Then it's Anthony, by himself. Then it's the women with AIDS. And, finally, Adam comes in last. With each repitition of a verse, a new group or person joins in on the harmony.
As for "What You Own"... Hm. I'll have to listen to that again. I guess I recognized his voice because I knew he was the one singing.
Exactly, but he doesn't sound like himself!
"I just had to share this story that made me laugh -- I just remembered it when I saw the movie with this friend last week, and we had to literally bite our lips to keep from laughing every time Roger came on screen.
My friend and I were talking about Rent last year and she mentioned that in 1999 she fell in love with it, especially with Roger's character, so she somehow found Adam Pascal's e-mail address and wrote him an e-mail (keep in mind, she was like 14 at the time). She doesn't remember exactly what it said, but she does remember that she ended it by telling him "follow your dreams." He wrote back (and i quote) "Uh...thanks Laura."
I laugh hysterically every time I think that she told him to follow his dreams (even though he was the star of a broadway show - you would think his dreams had been followed!) and he wrote back "uh...thanks." Not just "thanks" but "uh..." Can you imagine his face?
Just thought I'd share!"
I'm amused.

Ugh. I'm on the phone to activate my replacement credit cards, and they keep trying to get me to buy extra protection stuff. I'm like "no thanks" and they keep TALKING.
So was this his real e-mail address? Because that would make it even funnier.
If he needed to use "uh," he must've been a little scared. I'm surprised he didn't just run away from his computer, but actually responded.
After I saw the movie last week, I really wanted to e-mail him. Then, I realized that the man doesn't really *check* his e-mail but once a year or so.
I imagine he must have been frightened, which is hilarious. XD Especially if "uh... Thanks Laura" was his ENTIRE response. I wouldn't doubt it.
And yeah, I e-mailed him once a year and a half ago. He'll never check it again.
Poor guy.
I e-mailed him before he left AIDA. He wrote back a year later, after not only leaving the show, but doing and finishing Cabaret. Sometimes I think he was just being nice, but other time I figure it was a self-shilling opportunity; he was like "I'm recording my second CD -- check out the first one!"
Em, I know what you mean about the credit cards. A couple of weeks ago, I had to call to get my mother's name added to my account, and even after I told them I wasn't interested in the insurance, they continued the neverending speech of trying to sell me stuff I don't want.
And you can TELL they're reading you a speech. I'm like "okaynothanksI'mgoodfornowbye!"
after listening to will I? a couple of times, I finally found adam. I really like the way he sings the word "care"
I hate the people on the phones for credit cards.. Always trying to sell you something and not understanding not interested..
Me too, Fantabulous! I don't know why.
it's just really cool...it kind of sounds like it has a bit of a twang to it. does that make any sense?
It does!
It's things like that that I posted about somewhere; finding all of the tiny nuances in his voice again. He does all of these things that are just so cool.
have you guys seen this picture? someone posted it on lj
baby adam is really cute!
hee. That's all over the internet. He was cute! Well, still is.
Em since when do you find Adam cute?? This is news to me..
agh, 800 words is NOT enough. meeeeeeeeeh.
It never seems to fail does it?? It's always too much or not enough..
Well, I'm condensing 8 pages to two, basically.
Ouch.. That's definately a difficult task.. when do you need to have it done by?
Tomorrow at 6. I wanted to be done by the time I got to class, but that's in an hour. It's harder than I thought to pull what's *truly* relevant to people who might be casual fans, or not fans at all.
I can see the difficulty in that.. Well if I can be of any help.. let me know..
I think I'll be okay. I have an angle, so I'm not just aimlessly quoting and going "oh, I like that, and that and that!" but I feel like even the stuff that's not IMPERATIVE is... nice. urgh.
