yup...we've got ourselves an angry renthead
I want to send her an angry message.
But I won't.
I know! It's hard to not want to tell her all the things that were blatantly incorrect. I'm totally fine with her not liking it, but at least be informed, especially if she calls herself a renthead.
DO IT! :-P
You have every right. She got her facts wrong. Just tell her you respect her opinion, but she's a crappy reporter. It bothers me that people (even 'real' reviewers) think that because it's 'just' a movie they are writing about, if they get something wrong it doesn't matter. She's assuming things, which you can never do.
Have you ever seen the movie "Shattered Glass?" It's excellent, and Rosario's in it!
I want to be like "excuse me. You're WRONG. Have a nice night!" But it's just not worth making an enemy on the staff over, is it? I mean, if this were in progress and I'd somehow been able to correct her before publication, it would be worth calling her on. But it's done. She can't take them back, nor is it important enough for her to, in the grand scheme. It's just not that hard to be informed, especially with something that you can catch on Google in five seconds, but... meeeh.
What's it about, Elphie?
isn't it that movie with hayden christensen where he's a a newspaper writer? I think thats all I know...someone else can jump in now.
It's about Stephen Glass, a reporter for The New Republic. He basically...well, I won't tell, because it might ruin the movie. If you really want to know, you can PM me, because I don't want to ruin it for anyone else. It's excellent. You should watch it. In all your spare time.
It's not creepy or anything, right?
Oh no! Not at all. It's about reporting. But it's interesting, not boring. And it's starring Hayden Christiansen(?), so maybe you can watch it with your roommate! She likes him, right?
That she does!
I was just reading past threads since I wasn't around and someone said.... At one of his gigs during the RENT days, some girl went up to him, held a candle in his face candle and asked him, "Would you light my candle?" I couldn't BELIEVE it. I fell down laughing... how pathetic.
Just like he mentioned in the video on the blog
People are so funny.
Like I've said before, the first time I met him, people had candles. Some of them were token birthday candles, but then these girls were singing this song....
I was perplexed.
heehee, pre-Rent for you, huh? :-P
Which blog is this? Has it been posted yet?
huh? what do you mean, about the pre-rent thing?
My previous post was about before I was familiar with Rent.
ooo I thought Elphie was talking to me and I was tres confused
For Emcee. She was sayng the first time she met Adam was after AIDA, and she hadn't known about RENT then, so she was confused as to why people were shoving candles in Adam's face and singing this strange song. Right?
Right!
I was like "wow, they're a little crazy." And I wanted to get OUT of there.
Well, what do you think people will be thinking when you bring your pole for Raul to sign?
Elphie - the video was one that I don't think has been posted on the blog yet, but someone found out how to access it. Its posted around here somewhere
That's true. Maybe I should forget that idea...
I should bring Adam a candle. Mess with his head a little.
