"Oh, good. After all, I can rub my stomach and pat my head at the same time, and I can do it with my eyes closed while whistling 'The Entertainer.' That's rhythm for you."
~ Snaps, proving that White Boys CAN have rhythm
I just got back from my family's Hanukkah party (yeah, Hanukkah is still a week away, but we're going away on vacation and we do everything ahead of time anyway). Between having to deal with the adults all asking me how finals are going and nearly being trampled by the army of 6-year-olds eager to open their presents, I think I need to lie down. At least I got a bunch of awesome gifts and the people I bought things for all absolutely loved what I picked out.
"There was this one time an alarm went off - it was in the middle of '24.' That's just wrong. Everyone knows everyone was watching '24' at that time."
--NYU student quoted in the Washington Square News about students ignoring the frequent fire alarms in dorms
Ugh. I was talking my parents about my computer today, and when I send it away, not only will the time span a weeend, but it'll span Christmas -- I'm assuming that's going to slow the turnaround time, so I could be without it for like a week. F*ck.
I really don't know what I'm going to do! AHHHHH. And even though there's a 90% chance I'm going to buy a Mac anyway, I think I will want to go to the store and buy it (or at least talk to someone before I order one online) but I won't go near a shopping mall until after Christmas. So....
My laptop is an old iBook, with the "shell" design (also known as the toilet seat). I'm waiting to get a new one until they start putting out ones with the new Intel chip. I've got to decide whether or not I want one powerful enough to run Pro Tools.
Just a few days ago, though, I got a new iMac for home. It's WONDERFUL!
I guess you do need to see them to get an idea which would be best for you. My assistant whom you met has the 17 inch version. It's pretty necessary for our kind of work. Otherwise, it's just a matter of personal taste.
ETA: I had the weirdest dream last night, with Emcee and Raúl in it.
