Oh, goody. I don't know how I ever lived with dial-up. Wireless is amazing.
So, wrong thread, I know, but if you had to choose (I know you don't) between getting an iPod or going to see Raul in Company for a birthday present, which would you choose? (The Company thing is not a definite possibility, yet.)

Well, my computer is new as of this summer, I don't think it hates me for not naming it quite yet. Now lets see *checks under computer* He's a boy! Can I steal Radames if you're not gonna use it Em?

It depends, Elphie. How big are you on memories? That's basically what you'll get out of Company. If you usually see a show, like it and go home, it might be an unfufilling present. If you think back on shows often and really love to do so, it'll be good for you. Neither way is wrong, but you don't want to do it if remembering isn't your thing and you like to have something you can hold in your hand.
iPods are amazing, though. You won't regret getting one, I promise you that.
I agree with nia. Personally, I'm big on memories, and if it's something you know will give you an experience you'll remember forever, maybe you should do that.
Oh, god. I'm HUGE on memories. I'm always reliving little details of shows and stuff. However, if I find out it's coming to NY, I'm definitely going to wait. Also, although I want an iPod, I'm sort of ambivalent. It's stupid, but I'd feel like I'd be abandoning my cds. And, I'm perfectly happy with my cd player, iPods are just more convenient. Maybe I should pick a completely different present altogether.
*HUGE sigh* I *finally* finished my Columbia application! I just submitted it. I'm not too optimistic, but it's definitely a load off my mind.

Congrats, Elphie.
If you don't want an iPod, don't bother with it. How soon do you have to decide? I have no idea when/if they'll announce a transfer- it'd depend on how well it's recieved.
Congrats. That's a bitch of an application, too.
Well, my aunt is here, and she's the provider of the gift, so it would be nice, if I decide on an iPod, to get it with her. She's leaving Sunday. But, I really don't know...
I actually wanted to kill myself several times in the past 26 hours. You may remember my little breakdown from last night. :-/ I feel like I worked FOREVER on it, but I wasn't able to really convey a sense of me, like I was for the Chicago application. Oh, well. What's done, is done.
Yay for finishing!
The iPod is awesome because you get to have so much music with you in this little thing that you can carry around. Do you use your CD player a lot though? I'm on a bus to school for at least an hour every day so I always use it, but I don't see how someone who drives to school would use it much, unless you plug it into your car. But then I think it's not as necessary.
I really hope the show comes to NY!!! Have things come from that theatre before?

Elphie, I'm sure it's better than you think it is. Honestly.
Alix, I don't think so. It seems to me like they'd WANT to to transfer- after all, they have a relative 'name' and the hottest new director. It looks like they're going to test drive it first before making any kind of commitment or setting up any great expectations in case it fails.
I hope so, Nia!
My aunt said Company was the first show that made her fall in love with theatre, or something like that. But, she also said that it is *really* dated. So, unless they make it more contemporary, they might not feel it has a chance on Broadway.

Really? I don't think it's that dated... it's period, I suppose, but nothing about it bothered me.
I really have to get this CD. I should know this show.
I hope so too! I figured Raul took it because it's a fun opportunity and he was ready to do a role like this and to not be in the city for a little while. He seems really excited about it.

It's a great role. There's a lot to explore with it.
Well, I'm going to trust you, Nia, because you are MUCH closer to my age than my aunt is. If you don't find it too dated, hopefully others won't as well.

I have an iPod, and to tell you the truth my favorite part about it is iTunes (which you can get without paying a dime). It's a great way to organize your music on your computer- I didn't even bring my CD player to collge with me, because I don't need it anymore (which is good considering I've had it since I was 10, and it is crappy). I love my iPod though. It's great for when I am walking to classes, and I would die if I didn't have it for the 2 hour long drive when I go home.
It is really useful for people who have lots of music- mine holds 5000 songs, and I've already taken up almost 4000 of that. If you only have 50 CD's, then it is probably not worth it, but if you have lots of CD's, lots of music downloaded, then it is a very good thing to have.

I have thirtysome CDs and I think it's essential.
My ipod is nowhere close to being full. I am about 4,000 songs away. But I love it dearly and freak out when I forget to charge it and am not able to use it. At this point, I just can't imagine walking around with a CD player. Before, I used to have to pick out what I wanted to listen to before I left the house. Now, it's like a buffet! Everything is right there in front of you. Wow, I must be really hungry if I just compared my ipod to a buffet. Oy.
I'm STARVING. We had latkes tonight, but there were only enough for two per person.
My mom made latkes last night! They were amazing. Yum.
I couldn't imagen going anywhere without my mp3 player, when I carried aroung my CD player it would always skip and my Cds would get ruined.
PS: I loved tha comparison of an ipod to a buffet, it's very true.
GEEZ! Where does the time go?! Okay, shower time, then bed. Good night!
Goodnight, Elphie!
mmm, latkes!
Now I want latkes.
