Alix, I'd go with the friends. You'll feel left out afterwards if they talk about it and you weren't there.
I'm avoiding thinking about wisdom teeth. I just went to the dentist yesterday, and it tends to always be really embarrassing. I'm 18, but still go to a pediatric dentist, so they have to send me home with a report card for my mother. I think it's time to find a grown up dentist.
yucko, Em! A relative of mine got a nasty infection from impacted teeth that hadn't been taken out. It's not a pleasant experience at all to have them taken out...if the alternative is crooked teeth then no big deal if there's room for them. But if there isn't I am assuming the dentist knows what he/she's talkin about.
I on the other hand was dragged against my will to the denstist to have them done ... luckily they let me be asleep for it. My dad said he spent too much on braces for new teeth to screw up my mouth.
No King Kong viewing here yet ... perhaps when it gets to DVD.
Thankfully I've never had surgery, but I had an awful dream about it--for some reason I had to have surgery and they gave me the anesthetic to knock me out, but it didn't work! I was wide awake and they were about to open me, but somehow it paralyzed me so I couldn't scream I'm awake this is gonna hurt, etc. Thankfully I woke up before they opened me but I think the thought of surgery has terrified me ever since.

My mouth is abnormally small. I'll have to get mine out for sure, probably this summer. It's shaping up to be a hellish season.

Em- You shouldn't get them out unless you really need to, my dad has all of his and they were never a problem. Dentists like to tell you that it will be trouble no matter what, but do have them out if that's what is truly best.
wickedrentq- I was more refering to the obsessing part, not the actual true love of. Like I'll talk on AIM with my friend and be all "OMG Anthony is the cutest person ever to breath and Adam is hotter than anyone in the world and when they sing I just wanna DIE!" Now, obviously the above statements are true , but I wouldn't exactly call them important. The important thoughts are that Adam and Anthony and everyone else I love are extreamly talented people who's talent and lifesyles I truly respect.
I'll probably feel like I missed out more if I'm not with my family because I love New Year's, but I also love my friends and lately, we've kind of been growing distant, particularly the girl whose birthday it is. This would be a great way to hang out and maybe repair some divides. So what will make me happier tomorrow night won't make me happier in the long run most likely as the other one would if my mom is factored out. We shall see...
I'm probably having my wisdom teeth out this summer too. I'm scared.
wrq ... I have that same fear, I think it came from some middle of the night viewing of "Discovery Health" channel. I had kidney surgery last year and didn't sleep for like 3 days before hand I was so scared. It didn't even involve cutting - it was a laser, but the going to sleep part terrified me. I don't remember being scared when they did my teeth so it must be a recent irrational fear.
Ahh okay. I try very hard to not be a fangirl, I dunno, never felt the need to scream so and so is so hot, for many ppl it's just obvious....but...the week of 24 hour plays and Costello concert I decided I'm never fangirlish it's allowed...b/c when I was chatting w/ Wilson, I was wearing a shirt that didn't cover my shoulders and we were talking about the movie and to tell me something he kind of grabbed my shoulder and that really excited me so I came back to tell the story and realized how fangirlish that sounded but decided I hardly ever sound like that, so it's allowed once in a while.
Hmm, anyway you could do a little of both Alix?
I thought of that too, but my parents won't let me drive there myself, despite the fact that the law will, so no. They're paranoid and overprotective sometimes.
The friends quote thread is so great now I'm starting Friends' second season DVD lol(it's the only one I have). Alix, wanna play the Friends game?
for a little bit I suppose. Then I must sleep - another early morning, and on vacation too! - yuck.
OK, you start. Pick a word.
ohh okay....umm...
socks
When Ross and Rachel are doing laundry together and all the underwear turns pink because Rachel left a red sock in. (I think "sock" counts.)
Something like, "you left a red sock in with all your whites"
circles
SPORKS!!!
I don't know exactly why I felt a need to preface the story with that, but I saw Dog Sees God Tonight, and in it, there's a whole scene, or half of a scene really, about sporks and then it's mentioned again later. Someone is drunk and asks about a spork and so Marcy proceeds to explain the origin of the spork, which was actually interesting, and then they talk about it for a little while longer. It made me smile, especially because I just read the very origins of the BWW spork.
Well I don't know how much liberty I have w/ applying the word but...a toilet seat is a circle, and for Christmas Chandler and Joey got Phoebe toilet seat covers
stuffed animal
Ooh, I remember sporks in the show...heh. It was amusing but that scene went on too long...I thought it was overdone a little and I think I was also disappointed b/c Peppermint Patty and Marcy would not grow into those two...everyone else I could see origins in their Peanuts characters but not them...maybe I watched too much TV
I also thought that scene got a little long.
circles: monica tells rachel to put some sort of stuffing in "concentric circles" when they're making a thanksgiving dish at the beginning of TOWAT Football.
stuffed animals:
(I suppose we're being more liberal and not really quoting. That's good for now.)
lots of references to Rachel's Curious George, one being that "curious george is not so curious anymore" or something like that, referring to Marcel when he starts humping everything.
barbie
ETA: I'm afraid I must retire. I must. get back. on a normal. sleep schedule! (not that I'm sure I was ever on one) We shall continue this, however.
ooo, how was Newsical? Any exciting anicdotes about Johnny? (then I'm really going to sleep)
Wow...you are good. Didn't realize we were supposed to be quoting.
Ben plays w/ Barbie dolls, and Ross tries to get him into GI Joe's and stuff, fears he'll be too girly.
Garbage
Oh okay, I should go to bed too.
You didn't keep up, as I was getting there, I really didn't feel good and had to come home. I napped and go figure I feel pretty fine now. Well, I didn't get the ticket yet and at least I got to see it once, so I guess it wasn't meant to be.
Isn't Ian gorgeous? (I love him on Lost), and I used to love Buffy so seeing Eliza was awesome, any stage door stories?
That's OK. In a way, it's more fun when you don't quote.
garbage....hmmmm...I don't know the later seasons as well, but Monica is taking out the garbage when Phoebe and Rachel burst in, thinking that Chandler proposed and they ask to see her hand to see the ring and she gets all confused.
A word to ponder until next time: thumb
And I just realized that we should be playing this in the Friends quotes thread. Perhaps we can start a game there and then keep it going.
hah, there are sporks in the play?!
Yup umm, it's just one line so I'm not gonna write a huge spoiler thing, but basically Marcy and Peppermint Patty(or Tricia, whatever), are in the cafeteria and they look at sporks and Tricia wonders how they come up w/ the spork and Marcy answers, makes up humorous lies about how she knew that like she was tested on when she was younger or something, then revealed that Tricia asks every single day so she looked it up last night or something
We actually could start a new thread that's the game Alix...it's your game I'll leave it to you.
Thumbs...heh I love this one, when Ross is trying to prove evolution to Phoebe and he has little toys and he goes opposable thumbs, w/o evolution how do you explain opposable thumbs?
Maybe the overlords needed them to steer their spacecrafts
And we used a good quite
Oh, OK. Well, I'm glad you're feeling better now. I saw that you didn't feel well but I didn't realize that you didn't see Newsical. I thought you had gone home right afterwards.
stagedoor: ummm...I was seeing the show for my friend mainly (although I ended up really enjoying it as a whole despite some flaws - that's the word I was looking for!) and she wanted to see it because she was really excited about the actors - mainly Logan and Ian. Logan came out and we talked to him briefly and took pictures. He said that he'll be doing a show with Roundabout next by the guys who wrote Urinetown. We didn't see Ian come out at all. We met the actor who played CB, don't remember his name. Later, he was talking to the actor who played Van (I'm so bad with names) and a few other people and we were just hanging around talking to each other but next to him. I guess he saw me look at him a few times, because when he was done talking, the actor came over and said "hey." He was like, "I saw you waiting. You should shove the playbill at them and be like, 'sign this!'" or something like that. It was really sweet and incredibly nice of him. I actually wasn't going to ask him for anything because he was busy and then by the time he came over I wasn't really paying attention. He has really really nice eyes, and I think that's why I glanced at him a few times. I really enjoyed his performance so I was glad he did. We saw America come out but didn't say anything to her. It was apparently the girl from Bring It On's (I'm so bad!) birthday today so few people waited around for her but she didn't come out. Someone said her family was there with her. I think that's all. Wow - that was a lot longer than necessary. Sorry.
Goodnight!
ETA: more about Logan - I don't know how interested you are, but he said that it wasn't him playing the piano, which I was surprised by because I was convinced it was and someone asked how he does the thing where they bang the piano cover down on his hands multiple times and he made a joke about it and then just said "the magic of theatre."
ETA again: this time more important - about sporks! At one point, the grown up Linus goes on a rant about Mexican pizza and how it's ridiculous that it's called Mexican pizza. People would eat tacos if they want to eat Mexican food, etc...it was funny. Anyway, he's upset about how it's served in their school cafeteria and I forget exactly what he said but something about how all the students should "raise their sporks in protest" or use them as weapons to protest.
