I was at a party for a while, but it... turned out poorly. And now I'm here.
I'm glad you had a nice evening.
Uhoh, "poorly" does not sound good at all.
It was pretty fun, even though I got asked about 2 billion times which colleges I am applying to. My sister and I talked with our next-door neighbor about Harry Potter for about an hour and a half. She knows EVERYTHING about those books, and it was really interesting.

I used to be THE biggest Harry Potter nerd... until the fans began to resemble Wicked freaks. That sort of turned me off.
I just got good news- They're making a movie of The Rum Diary, starring Johnny Depp!! I LOVE the book and he'll do wonders- the role he's playing is basically Hunter S. Thompson, and he was incredible as him in Fear and Loathing...
It doesn't fix my problems, but it's something to look foward to this year.
It definitely is! And that's the most important thing; not to let the bad things overshadow the good, or even mildly pleasant ones.
I saw the trailer for Pirates 2. It looks scary.

I hope it's good. It's so rare that a sequel is as good as the original. Do you know what it's about?
I can't handle bad things right now. As Scarlett O'Hara says, "I'll think about it tomorrow."
Johnny Depp. Happy thoughts.
I forget what it's called, but there's a guy with an octopus head, and that's kind of gross. ewww.

I'd imagine that ppl have gotta be obsessed enough to come on here after getting back.
I'm sorry guys about hard times--Elphie, plan like a totally fun thing to do when you're done w/ your applications, always helps me get through lots of work.
When does Pirates 2 come out? I'm excited. It prob won't be quite as good but it's Johnny Depp..*sigh* playing Jack Sparrow...still say he shoulda won the Oscar.
I'm sorry Insomniak(would you rather I call you that or Nia? I feel weird just using non-BWW names unless like...ppl say to...), but look at the bright side...you always can come "here" as in BWW during hard times, and I know from experience it can be such a big help/support/escape.
"It was pretty fun, even though I got asked about 2 billion times which colleges I am applying to."
Yep, if there's one thing adults love, it's interrogating college-aged people about their plans. Prepare for 4 years of being asked how things are going at school/what exactly you're majoring in/what you plan to do when you graduate.

I'm not obsessed, I'm just bored. We left the party we were at around 12:30, because my sister was sleeping and my brother was near it. We came home and everyone went right to bed.
Hey, like I read from Bridget Jones, this age w/ college questions is much better than what happens in your late 20s...everybody asks you if you have a boyfriend or why you're not married. Thank god I don't hafta deal w/ those questions now.

Elphie, maybe you should type up all of your information and print out several copies. When someone wants to know, just hand them the sheet.
I'm tired, but I know I won't be able to sleep.
Hi, Billboard. How was your evening?
Whooop. deee. dooo. I can't wait, Billboard Girl.
Alright, it's off to bed for me. Good night and happy new year, everyone!
Sorry dancing, I think I meant addicted more than obsessed...well, that's true for me at least, but certainly not the only reason ppl come on.
I'm obsessed and bored.
"Elphie, maybe you should type up all of your information and print out several copies. When someone wants to know, just hand them the sheet."
Heh. One of my high school friends actually had a T-Shirt printed up that said where he was going to school and what he was majoring in because he was tired of constantly being asked those questions.
Nia, my evening was pretty discombobulated. Lots of unpacking and not much putting stuff back where it's actually supposed to go. Some stressing out over the apparent death of my iPod. A little bit of fun from watching School Of Rock, or more precisely, Adam's scenes in School Of Rock. Now I'm just in that ridiculously tired but totally unable to sleep mode.

That's a good idea, Nia. I may try that. And you should try to sleep, otherwise you'll be miserable tomorrow.
'Night!
Hey everybody. I'm back and I'm cold. How's everyone else?
You actually shouldn't make a habit of this, but if a night comes along where it's important to get a good amount of sleep but for some reason you're having trouble falling asleep or think you will have trouble, you can take benadryl to function as a sleep aid. Make sure you could def sleep late enough to get 8 hours and don't take it 2 nights in a row.

Billboard, I didn't see your post before. What happened to your iPod? What did people say about that t-shirt?

Happy New Year, everyone! Thanks for being such nice, wonderful people and welcoming me into your little thread. :)
Those "college questions" are the worst for people like me who really aren't sure as to what they're going to do with their lives. At least I know where I'm going for college, I suppose.

Hi Fantab, I missed your post this time around... What did everyone do?
My attempt at taking pictures from Central Park:
Happy New Year again, everyone. I feel exhausted yet awake. I've got an old Grateful Dead concert on TV, the closing 1978 New Year's concert of Winterland. It was an iconic San Francisco venue. Before there were Rentheads there were Deadheads, fans who would follow the band all over the country. I'm pretty sure the name evolved from pothead. In those days the two were probably synonymous.
I'm rambling.
ETA: great pictures!

Those are really good, Fantabulous. How do you manage to take them without getting everything blurry? My hands aren't steady enough to take clear photos.
