If nothing else, nia, it'll make you laugh. Try to enjoy, and let us know what you think. I'm sort of lukewarm about seeing it at all. I'm not crazy about the show, funny as it is. IMO, it's severely overrated. Talk to you later.
His voice is *different*, not ruined.
I feel like I can't read BBM from a website. I don't know why, but I need to have the actual book in front of me.
I hate reading stuff online. I think I will because I'm impatient, but I'm also going to buy the book, because it's like 8 bucks.
I bawled during Million Little Pieces. I need to go get "My Friend Leonard," the sequel.
Sorry to totally change the subject, but I'd like to point you all to the NY Times auction site ... If you all give me a couple thousand bucks, I'm sure I can win the Rent walk on

Actually, I prefer listening to him on the movie soundtrack (e.g. the wacky vibrato thing he does in the OBCR of "Your Eyes" bothers the hell outta me for whatever reason). For the most part, I like the "newer" sound, although there are times that he just sounds really strained.
And BG, YES, I find myself telling that to my parents all too often. It's funny because I've never really done anything too deviant in my life, but my parents and I still find scores of things to fight about. Heh, I seem so much like you.
Nia, I hope you enjoy The Producers! I didn't care for the show, although perhaps if I saw it with Lane/Broderick I would have felt differently.
Oh thanks JL! I forgot there was a sequel. I think I'm going to head to Barnes and Noble and pick up My Friend Leonard and BBM.

Sorry, going back to the Wax Lion thing because I had to leave before. Caitie seems to be under the impression that Kyle IS Wax Lion...
Now I'm confused.
siamese - I was listening to the OBCR last night in the car and I realized there were a lot of things I have come to like better about the soundtrack. Mostly Jesse ... he sounds forced on the OBCR. I guess now that I've heard the new one so often, I can really understand what Anthony, Adam, and others have said about not liking the OBCR sound.
I haven't gotten around to seeing The Producers on Broadway yet, and I sorta feel like I should do that before I see the movie version. Or maybe I should just see the original movie first.
I kinda always thought Wax Lion was Anthony ... didn't Wax lion show up right around when Anthony stopped posting updates?
He joined in like... April?
I like Adam's voice now better, too. It's not as throaty, I guess. But I think I like it better because that's just what I'm so used to. The first time I heard him he sounded that way -- not how he sounds on the Rent OBCR.
Anthony stopped early April, Wax Lion started late April.
Peculiar....
I honestly think that account belongs to more than one individual.

I think that I generally prefer the way he sounds on the movie soundtrack, with "Without You" being the notable exception. I really wish that some of the songs that didn't make it into the movie would have been recorded for the soundtrack anyway, because it would have been interesting to hear how the cast would have approached them differently (and of the songs that are there, I really miss the ending of "You'll See" that had to go because the song came so much earlier in the movie - that part is just so cute, and the way Adam sings the "let it be, boys" line on the OBCR is just wow).
"It's funny because I've never really done anything too deviant in my life, but my parents and I still find scores of things to fight about. Heh, I seem so much like you."
Same here! I almost feel like I've been too well-behaved and that my parents pick on me over stupid s**t like how much time I spend online or my eating habits because they don't know how good they have it.
Yea, I'm not sure I agree about Kyle being Wax Lion. If you search Wax Lion and look at some of his posts, he knows a lot about the OBC run, the NYTW run, and the filming of the movie. Plus, the fact that the actual figurine appeared in the movie...it has to be someone involved.
parents are wacko. My brother got caught with alcohol in high school and it was like "dude, not a good idea." I got caught online at like 2am the day before finals and its a huge fight that resulted in getting grounded for all the parties at the end of the year.
I guess Wax Lion could be lots of people ... that makes sense. I kind of noticed the good grammar and vocabulary which made me think Anthony too, as well as the idea that he and Tracie spent a lot of time together practicing the Tango in the beginning, hence Wax Lion praising Tracie and using the Lion ...

But, I've also read posts where Wax Lion definetly is kyle. Where he's thanking everyone for voting for him and stuff like that. Hmmmmm
I fell exactly the same way about my parents sometimes too. They flip out about me being online so much. Atleast I'm not out driving drunk.
Is they key changed in Without You? Adam's part is LOW.
I think Kyle's in on the joke. Maybe.

Yeah, but I can't stand listening to Daphne make her way through that song (I like Daphne, but the slower songs weren't her strong suit, IMO). So, sacrifices must be made for the overall enjoyment of the song. I'm with you on missing the end of "You'll See"!
This sounds nitpicky (and I suppose it really is), but I think Anthony would have known better than to make the possessive of Tracie's name "Tracie Thom's."
Granted, it could be a typo, but I picture Anthony for whatever reason meticulously slaving away at the computer, making sure that he spelled everything (especially his fellow cast members' names) correctly. Heh.
Maybe it is a key change ... I'd have to listen to them back to back. Jesse sings lower on the soundtrack, I think, too.
I am guessing Kyle knows who it is ... the whole mailing the lion to him for the premiere and the getting to wear the old Mark sweater and meeting Anthony and the others at the premiere ... But I felt like it had to be an insider when they were posting about behind the scenes during filming.
The typing tone changes often, which is the main reason I think it's more than one person. Sometimes, he reads *exactly* like Anthony, and sometimes it's just like "no, can't be."
At least one cast member has access to that account.
good point ...
And that day that BWW was messed up and Wax Lion said they signed in and were seeing someone else's PM's and were worried that others could see theirs...Enough people would know or use the account that real names must be used somewhere!

Yes. I heard it was changed to accommodate Rosario's vocal range. I'm not good with figuring out the key of a song, but I think someone said that it changed from D# to C.
I can't vouch for that specifically, but I can hear a definite key change.
hehe maybe that's why I can sing along so much easier! Sadly, I was born with a boy's voice it seems ... I can sing the Adam and Anthony parts no problem but going high to be a girl, I just make strange noises!

Oy vey. Just out of curiosity, was the brother who got caught with alcohol older or younger than you? I find that my parents let things slide with my younger brother that they would majorly scream at me for (not major things, just stuff like forgetting to take/turn on the cell phone while not at home).
"I fell exactly the same way about my parents sometimes too. They flip out about me being online so much. Atleast I'm not out driving drunk."
Heh. I remember one time when my parents yelled at me for "being addicted to the computer," and I actually said (well, more like bellowed at the top of my lungs if we're being perfectly honest here) to them "would you rather I were out robbing a liquor store right now instead?"
"Is they key changed in Without You? Adam's part is LOW."
I think I read that they changed the key for that song. I miss the pretty high notes at the end that were on the OBCR version.
