Bye Mandi!
*breathes* Wow, the thread was movie really fast for a while there. I couldn't keep up!
Heathcliff is a cutie. *snicker*
Wow, this is post 12500!
Good night, Atrias.
Bye, Mandi.
I'm probably going to go to bed pretty early tonight, since my mom has decided that she wants to go to the TKTS booth as soon as it opens so that we have time to go downtown, buy my textbooks for the upcoming semester, and put them in my dorm room before we see the show we get tickets to. In order to accomplish this, she's probably going to wake me up at 7, approximately 4 and a half hours earlier than I woke up today. Yikes.
Seven's pretty early, but at least you get to see a show!
What year are you, BG?
Yes, he is a cutie.
I'm a sophomore, Elphie.
Cool! I was just curious.
I like his hair like that.
I'm a little annoyed right now. Our government fell back in December, so we have an election coming up at the end of January, and I have to put up with all the election commercials. Every commercial break each party has a commercial. One of the parties even put a sign on the lawn at the house I rent at school.
Oh well, it will be over soon, I've just got to figure out how I'm supposed to vote, I'll probably come back home.
I feel like I never saw any political commercials during campaigns. Maybe one or two, but it wasn't too bad.
Do you go to U Toronto?
Nope I go to a really small school called Trent. It's in Peterborough. I did take a summer course at U of T last summer though.
What always cracks me up is that during campaign season, I feel like I see more commercials for whatever offices are up for grabs in New Jersey that year than I see for New York elections.
Oh.
Our elections are kinda different, we don't vote for offices. We vote for who we want to run our district, which in turn counts for a vote for one of the major parties.
I find it amusing that someone thought it was a good idea for the leader of the opposition to star in his own commercials. It looks really rehearsed, and he still has problems with it.
Wait, what exactly happened with the government? My mom's from Winnipeg, I should know this, but I dont. :-/ I remember hearing about it...
We had a minority government, meaning that the Liberals were in power, but barely, with every vote they ran the risk of being overruled. When the party in power cannot get laws passed, the government falls. The two opposition powers joined together for a vote of non-confidence, meaning that the Liberals have lost all their power. So we have another election.

Wow, that doesn't sound too good, or effective.
Hi, Nia!
That sounds like a rather messy system.

It's not, it's annoying.
Hi, Nia. I've kinda been here for awhile, just not signed in. What brings me here though is kinda a long story. I've like Adam for a few years now, I just didn't know it. When Aida came to Toronto a few years ago there were a lot of commercials so I had "Not Me" stuck in my head forever. When I went away to school I *coughdownloadedcough* the full song, then eventually the whole soundtrack, and I always liked Radames' voice. I remember looking Aida up on the internet, but mostly for the story and not the actors. And then when the Rent soundtrack came out and I heard Glory, I figured out it was the same guy and then I was completely hooked. (told you it was long).

It's just fine, Snowbird. I'm really sorry if my last comment sounded rude and ignorant. I just realized that it was a bit tacky.
Not to worry, Nia, a minority government is pretty stupid. It did surprisingly last for awhile, our last election was in June 2004.
