Just something like "thank you, take care." But he signed it "love"...which made me totally flip out...
And yeah, you'd definitely hear damage by now if it was going to happen...I think we're kind of paranoid because young people get told about vocal damage so much. My voice teacher used to go on and on about how she wouldn't teach me to belt because I'm 15 but have the vocal chords of a 20 year old...which to her is "good, but it makes them extremely vulnerable." ::ponders::

Sorry to butt in....
I have to say seeing Matt Caplan's Mark made me want to kill myself. I've seen him twice so far (one in November last year and once in June 2004). I have never seen an actor on stage who is more bored or less interested in a part he's playing. He barely opened his mouth when he spoke. No energy whatsoever .. he is one of the main reasons why I think Rent is a mess at the moment (apart from all the stunt casting), most of the actors don't 'care' about it, it's a job to them. Having seen the OBC and seen what it can be like I feel like crying every time I see it now.
I love Rent and have been fortunate enough to see it quite a few times with different people. But what Matt did to the character (after having seen what how much effort/dedciation the wonderful Anthony Rapp put into the creation of the charcater) was beyond me.
I felt so strong about it that I was about to go to the stage door and kick his arse!

If you have a feeling there's an ulterior motive behind someone's words or actions, don't dismiss it. You could be right. Do some investigating and see what you can find out. In the meantime, don't leave yourself unprotected.
