" I tend to like my Rogers a bit more on the vulnerable and desperate side."

Ah! I love Roger debates. Here is where I stand. Jeremy has a decent voice. It just doesnt fit THIS role. Why would a New York, hard rocker have a country twang to his voice? I find his acting choices to be wrong too. He is TOO angry and TOO co*ky. Lets run down the list of what Roger is going through.
1. Just found out his girlfriend killed herself
2. Just found out his girlfriend killed herself because she had AIDS
3. Just found out that he now has AIDS
4. Is a recovering drug addict
5. Is poor because he doesn't have a job.
6. His friend is now his landlord, and said they didn't have to pay, now he wants the entire years RENT.
Not quite a good life at the moment. From what it seems, all this stuff happened all at the same time. He is a broken man. The reason why he is singing "I should tell you" over and over again is because he wants to tell Mimi about his past (and his health) but is scared too. This is why i think the vurenable angle works better.
Also, the fact that adam was uncomfortable with acting and musical theatre at the time (or at least the beginning) of RENT, it really helped him with that.
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!
