lol. if i ever get to order my copy!!!! *cries*
Hehehe...I just worked out to Aida. Yay. I'm pumped now. You know what I think is funny? How none of the museum goers notice that one of the exhibits has suddenly started walking around and singing...
I mean I know it's Broadway, but that is just so Disney I have to laugh...
And I also love how everyone has the same three favorites from Civilian.
I must also say that 10,000 Miles is perfect for sappy romanticness and the intro is absolutely gorgeous.

Oh boy....
Adam was the original Roger in Rent. He was the original Radames in Aida, and he also closed the show. He was the last actor to play Emcee in Cabaret. He's recorded two solo records and co-produced an off-Broadway play. He was in the movies SLC Punk!, School of Rock and Temptation and appeared in the Actors' Fund Benefits of Chess and Hair. He is very sexy, sweet, talented and gorgeous and we love him.

"I felt so strong about it that I was about to go to the stage door and kick his arse!"
Gotta love QM when she's in her arse-kicking mode!!! QM -- I think anyone who saw the Rent OBC has a hard time letting go of that experience; after the several shows I saw with OBC, I didn't see the show again until 2000 and 2001 (and haven't seen it again since). Partly due to the fact that I want to spend money seeing other things, of course , but partly because when I did see the later Broadway cast, they just didn't seem to be into it. I will say that I thought the tour in 2001 (I don't remember the company name) was great. At least when I saw it in Boston, the cast worked really well together, unlike the Broadway cast during that period which just looked bored. I know there are many people who didn't like Jeremy Kushnier's Roger, but personally I thought he did a wonderful job. His voice is weaker than Adam's, and I've heard criticisms that he portrayed Roger with 'too much anger', but I thought it worked really well. Manley Pope was the Roger in Broadway when I saw it again; he has a nice voice, but his acting was terrible. None of the performances I saw with Manley was in anyway enjoyable. In terms of Anthony Rapp's work as Mark -- I guess the OBC as a whole is hard to beat. Not so much because they were all better actors but they really did have great chemistry. And were probably in it with just a slightly different mindset. But I understand why you're frustrated about it. (re Matt Caplan, some people said he's really good when not bored!)
.
Emcee -- I'd be interested to hear how Jeremy's doing now... Hope you enjoyed the show!

I have seen the 2001 Bennies and I was quite impressed. Liked them lots. The thing about Jeremy is that his voice seems all wrong for the role, it's very twangy and country-esque. I thought he was too melodramatic, I didn't feel like he communicated Roger's frustration and anger with himself very well. Matt Caplan was allegedly very good back in his Benny Tour days before he got bored and set in his portrayl. Updated On: 10/14/04 at 06:42 PM
