I've always loved Jesse too, amasis. He's very underappreciated among Rent fans.

Did they ever make a London recording? Actually, does anyone have any of the foreign recordings, and what do you think of them?

And is there a current tour and how is it?

It was basically Amneris standing there with the hand maidens dancing around her. Then during the music break, there was a fashion show.

It's true, insomniak. It's a shame that we don't get to hear that voice more often - he has a beautiful voice.

Insomniak, unfortunately, they never released a London Cast Recording and YAY for Jesse, I loved him. A voice to die for, so soulful!

I'm not too sure if there is a current tour but I'll find out. The last tour was ridiculous... and don't get me started on the last London production (it had a short run of about 12 weeks). They hired Caprice (who's a model) to star as Maureen and she sang play-back... because she couldn't sing. They didn't even make a secret out of it!

Rent in Germany was actually very successful and had a huge following! YAY for Germany Although it was in German! PLEASE!

Yes, I do dance demonstrations and all... wait, you haven't seen my Amneris dance???

Well, I think Amasis got it. Strongest Suit includes Amneris' maids who first watch her sing the beginning of the song, then they start showing off different bags, hats etc which makes Amneris squeal a bit...

They do various dance routines (you know, I can REALLY do that dance!!!) but it finishes on a cat walk where all dancers show off different costumes. Once they finished their fashion show, Amneris makes her entrance with that fabulous dress. She is then once again joined by other dancers and they all finsh the song together (THIS MADE NO SENSE AT ALL EXCEPT FOR THE PEOPLE WHOW ACTUALLY SAW THE SHOW).

And what do water fountains have to do with lip-synching? Are the cast all just too dazzeled by their own sets to pay attention to singing?

I saw Aida in October 2000 - somewhere around Adam's birthday, actually. Fell in LOVE with the show, but really, I could've seen anybody up there. I knew there was a guy, and he was good, but I had no idea WHO he was, and didn't quite care that he was the sexiest thing on Earth. Met him, too... was terrified. So as my love affair with the AIDA CD continued, I discovered THE voice, but it took a while for me to really love Adam. I was only about thirteen... but, the rest is history, I suppose. And I'm glad for it.

I know, I remember from time to time that it exists. Only just.

Emcee - let's just wait and see. I actually have no strong feelings either way, because who is right for each part will depend much on what they're doing to the script and what the end vision for the movie is. And none of us know the answer to those questions right now.

I AM surprised, though, about the 'I know it all' tone of discussion happening on the main board (at least for a while; it seems to be calming down now).
