This amuses me, since Adam can't ever have anything to do with Sondheim... or... can he?
"Adam can't ever have anything to do with Sondheim... or... can he?"
I can't imagine his voice fitting into anything Sondheim has written, except for maybe "I am unworthy of your love" from Assassins. Or... maybe he can do the role of Bobby from 'Company'. (It'll sound different, with him singing it, but... could be interesting ).
If only because people on this thread always poke fun of him being whiny, though (I can't hear him singing the songs, for sure), I think he should play one of the princes in Into the Woods.
Cinderella's Prince: If it were not for the thicket--
Rapunzel's Prince: A thicket's no trick. Is it thick?
CP: It's the thickest.
RP: The quickest is pick it apart with a stick--
CP: Yes, but even one prick-- It's my thing about blood.
RP: Well, it's sick!
CP: It's no sicker than your thing with dwarves.
RP: Dwarves!!
CP: Dwarves.
RP: Dwarves are very upsetting.
On a serious note, if you can check out the Sweeney Todd DVD, definitely do. And both Sunday in the Park and Into The Woods are also available on DVD.

I'll definitely try. Thanks.
So, with so many having departed, soon I'll be talking to myself on this thread. I guess that's partially Adam's fault, anyway... since he's gone, too.
*hugs everyone who hasn't left yet*
Morning Sweets how are you today?
It's the weekend, so... hanging in there. Just in a really weird mood, for various reasons. *shrug*
I'll get past it.
**hugs**
Well if there is anything I can do, even if it's just listen to you vent, I'm here.. can't get on aim at work but pm works just fine..

Okay, I'm not even going to ATTEMPT a review... I'd never seen it before, so I have nothing to compare it to! I will say that it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I got to the theatre and got my seat and just STARED at the set until it started. The band was already on stage, jamming I guess. Then Dan comes out and people just kept chattering away. I think they thought he was another band member because he had his guitar in hand. Then it started. At first, I was like, "I'm not going to cry. It's not too bad... not to emotional yet." I was alright until the opening bit of the song "Rent". Then I just kind of lost it. The woman beside kept looking over to see if I was okay, too. I don't think I moved for the whole first act. No shifting, nothing. Just loud, LOUD clapping.
It was more than I ever thought to expect (that sounds kind of cheesy)!! The full cast was on, and everyone was just incredible. As I told my friend when she asked how it was: "I... it... there are no words."
After the show, I was SO not missing the stage door. I wasn't sure where it was, but there was a huge sign that said "STAGE DOOR", so I figured I was in the right spot! So I stood there: completely alone. I couldn't believe it! Mind you, it was bitterly cold, so most people just took off, but I wasn't leaving! There was a guy there checking people off as they left and stuff. He kept looking out the door, so I tried to look extra pathetic and cold, thinking maybe he'd let me in. It didn't work. Everyone was SO bundled up that I really couldn't tell who was who, so I just kept telling them how much I enjoyed the job, and said "Wonderful job" a lot...
so did you talk to any of them??
I'm so glad you liked it.. aren't they amazing..

...Then Andy came out, singing along with his Ipod, guitar in hand. He came right over to me (still alone, by the way) and shook my hand. I was kind of tongue-tied, so the conversation wasn't really the greatest, but he was SO nice. Then a bunch of squeally girls came over for hugs. Then he said, "You didn't get a hug," to which I replied, "Mnuh..." So, I got one! Yay! Then I got a picture. DOUBLE YAY. Then Dan came out, and Andy called him over for pictures as well. YAY! Then they headed for the bus because it was so bitterly cold out. Then I kind of stumbled up to the phone to call a cab, and their bus left.
I want to see the pics.. Andy is a sweety..

Oh, he was incredibly nice!
Okay, so then I went to the bus the next morning to come back to Halifax... then the storm started! So I got stuck in another city for the night! Luckily, I had friends at the university there, so I stayed with them for the night. So I missed three days of classes instead of just two! But I'm back now!
I was wondering where you were yesterday..
I'm so glad you had a good time..

I'm exhausted, though! Who knew that travelling in a bus for 6 hours was so tiring?
I've never travelled by bus before, but plane gets tiresome too..
so you pics are the digital? I want to see..

No, they're not digital, and it was a new film. I only got a couple, so I'll be taking pictures like crazy for the next couple days to finish up the film!
ok well I will try to be patient..
I'm so glad you liked it. It's so hard to describe your first time, but it's really an amazing thing.

Wow, Allie, what an adventure - I'm glad you had some friends to stay with, under the circumstances.
Okay, I need some advice from all the Rent experts around here. I've been thinking about trying to see the tour, which supposedly has some dates in Connecticut and New Jersey starting the end of Feb. (However these dates aren't showing up on Ticketmaster - but that's a whole other issue.) I've heard so many negative things about the state of the show on Broadway right now, and so many positives about the tour, that it just seems like the obvious choice, inconvenient though it might be. (Though nothing compared to six hours on a bus!)
On the other hand, I've also just read some very good reviews of the Broadway show with the new cast members for Roger and Mimi. Some people seem very enthusiastic, and I'm not sure what to do now, given that it would be so much easier to see it on Broadway. Any opinions?
My vote is for the tour.. they are absolutely amazing.. I just checked their site and they with bee going between Conneticut, New Hampshire and New Jersey Feb 25 to Mar 5, this is the whole schedule:

I can't say anything about Cary returning to broadway, and I haven't heard anything yet.. But I can tell you the tour is worth the trip and doesn't disappoint.. **can't wait to see them again** But I'm sure anyone here could have guessed what my opinion would have been..
Thanks for the link, Cam, and yes, I did have an inkling about what your opinion would be!
