Just thought I'd dedicate a thread to one of the other awesome witches!
Her comedic timing... awesome "BLOND!" LOL!
Her singing... awesome (who knew?)
Love that she is starting a whole new career after SNL(and doing well at it).
Love that she builds her vocals and her character througout the show.
Love that she came to Chi town.
Love that her young and older Elphies are SO different.
Love that she recongized the art of theater.
That witchy cackle!
Love ya Ana! You're amazing!

I saw her on the MD Telethon this morining doing "For Good" with Kate Reinders. They sounded great!
On the other hand, having Bart Connors and Nadia Comenici (sp.?) as the Chicago hosts was a bad idea. Nadia barely speaks English and had a helluva time reading the teleprompter while introducing the number.

Yay! Good thread choice. I have loved her since the first time I saw her do Celine Dion. "I am de greatest singer in de world!" I am really keeping my fingers crossed for her to come to NY in Jan. I have always seen shows on vacations and visits. Now that I live so close(yay! finally) I wanted to catch Wicked again. From what I hear, I should wait the current cast out and hope for Ana.
It's strange, but part of me is very proud of her. Don't know why. Must be the SNL junkie in me. It's nice to see a former cast member that didn't just go on to make bad movies.

I must add my love for her. She was amazing on SNL and I always felt she never got the recognition that Molly Shannon and Cheri Oteri did. Her Martha Stewart, Celine Dion, and Hillary Clinton are legendary.
Definetly want to see her in Wicked.

Posted: 9/6/05 at 9:03pmI really hope I get a chance to see her in Wicked, I'm sure she's great. I have the actor's fund hair cd so I've heard her sing on that and I like what I hear...I can definitely picture her as Elphaba. Plus, I'm a big SNL fan and personally thought that the shows were best when her, Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, etc. were in the cast...very funny person, and I LOVED her Martha Stewart!

Posted: 9/6/05 at 9:51pmI've loved her ever since her SNL days, so I was really happy to see her terrific performance in Wicked this past weekend. I love all her SNL characters, I loved her in "Mean Girls," I thought she was great in Showtime's movie version of "Reefer Madness," and of course, I loved her as Elphaba. At the curtain call, she did the booby-shaking dance that will be familiar to anyone who has seen the "Martha Stewart Topless Christmas Special" on SNL, one of the funniest segments ever! To be honest, the minute I found out she was cast in the Chicago sit-down, I knew I had to find a way to see it, and when my friends and I were planning a Labor Day weekend getaway, I convinced everyone that we REALLY needed to go to Chicago.

Posted: 9/6/05 at 10:25pmIs there a "Best of SNL: Ana Gasteyer" like there is for Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, etc.? If there is I'd really love to see it!

Posted: 9/6/05 at 10:30pmI <3 Ana! She is phenominal! She's so versitile and SO hilarious, but serious when she needs to be. So glad she's in Chicago! Hats off to Ana.
-My fault, I fear.

Posted: 9/6/05 at 10:33pmShe has no "Best of SNL" which is ridiculous. She is featured on the 25th anniversary DVD.

Posted: 9/6/05 at 10:37pmShe is a multi-talented actor who has found her medium. I laughed for years watching her on SNL. I saw her Elphaba last week and my respect for her is now ten fold.

Forgot all about the Martha Stewart Topless Christmas Special! Brilliant sketch!
... and Reefer Maddness as well! She's a very fuuny woman, and it's a crime that she doesn't have a best of dvd.

I rally for a Best of Ana Gasteyer SNL!!! Please Producer gods…deliver us this talented performers best of!
What amazes me is that she’s in a whole new medium… and she actually excels. Beautiful, powerful voice… and the nuance of her character is incredible. All the little looks and movements she adds to Elphie make her a complex and interesting character. And she’s freaking hilarious! And such powerful emotions on no good deed and defying.
I just finished listening to “wolves in Chic clothing” which she narrates. She does all the different voices and makes the story come to life. She is such a talented performer in so many different areas… just now staring to get recognized. I LOVE her! Have been rewatching her on Best of Will Ferrel and Molly Shannon Schweaty balls!!! LMAO!
Do you know that there is NO fan page for her (other than one that’s like 5 years old) If I knew anything about websites, I’d do it. She is in my opinion, the best Elphaba ever. An amazing improver. A true talented actress. I hear she’s leaving us in Jan… anybody else know? I have seen the show twice and am going back at least once more before she leaves… and I need to make time to stage door her…. *sigh* I am a geek.
I just have major respect for her talent and for her courage in branching out to a whole different medium. And boy… Chicago theater is sure glad she did! LOVE YOU ANA!

I haven't seen Ana in Wicked and wasn't thrilled from the Telethon performance which is far from enough to judge a performance since that song isn't one of my favorites anyway.
However, I loved Ana on SNL and I would happily purchase a Best of DVD of her.
She is very talented and I am thrilled to see her successful in a medium she apparently loves rather than making bad movie after bad movie like most other SNL alums.
