With everything that's going on for poor Gerry and crazy fans and conventions with his mom, let's give Gerry some normal fan love! BUMP!

Dear Frankie was one night, I only caught the last bit of it. I wonder if Game of Their Lives is available on DVD around here?

Figured it was time to bump this with updates on upcoming projects Gerry is working on.

"300" has completed filming and is scheduled to be released in theatres on March 9, 2007. Here's a synopsis of the film:

"Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale."

http://300themovie.warnerbros.com/ is the official website. You can see a couple of trailers and there is also a video blog.

Filming has completed on "Butterfly For A Wheel" and the film will be released sometime in 2007. It stars Gerry along with Pierce Brosnan. Synopsis:

"Chicago residents Neil (played by Butler) and Abby Warner (played by Bello) have a perfect marriage and a worry-free life. However, when their daughter Sophie gets kidnapped, their lives are thrown into chaos as they are forced to comply with the kidnapper's demands. The kidnapper is Ryan (played by Brosnan), who is a dangerously-efficient sociopath who feels like he has nothing to lose.
For the next twenty-four hours, Neil and Abby have no choice but to comply with Ryan's demands, and it soon becomes apparent that money is not the object -- in exchange for Sophie, Ryan wants them to kill an innocent man"

Filming is currently taking place for P.S. I Love You, based on the well-known novel. Hilary Swank stars. Unfortunately, Gerry's dead from the beginning of this one but is still an integral part of the movie:

" A young widow discovers that her late husband has left her 10 messages intended to help ease her pain and start a new life"

Aww. James Marsters of Buffy is going to play his friend. The film should be released sometime in 2008.

Next, "Therese Raquin" is in preproduction, awaiting filming. This movie stars Glenn Close as a character the synopsis does not describe and Giovanni Ribsi as Camille:

"Therese and her lover Laurent(Gerry) murder Camille, Therese's husband. After marrying, the couple are visited by Camille's ghost, slowly turning their love for one another into an all-consuming hatred."

This may be late 2008.

Finally, Gerry is in negotiations for "Priest" Synopsis:

"A priest (Butler) disobeys church law to track down the vampires who kidnapped his niece. "

I guess the Dangerous Liasons remake never panned out. He would have been great in that...

But anyway he is quite busy and I'm so excited he'll be sharing the screen with such talented actors, and playing a huge variety of characters--evil, benevolent, dead, etc. More ways to show off his amazing talent.

In honor of the release of 300, I figured I'd bump this thread to see if anyone wanted to join in the fun.

I have been a HUGE Gerry fan since I saw him in "Tomb Raider 2", and my passion was reignited when I saw "Phantom" and "Dear Frankie." Such a wonderful actor. Also saw 300 on Friday at midnight: an AMAZING movie. I'd totally recommend it for all Gerry lovers who wish to see him scantily clad. ^_^

I heard he was good in 300, but in Phantom? That was a joke! Emmy Rossum was better than him.

He's come close to being the next big thing several times. 300 should do it for him.

And what was the deal with him and Rosario Dawson at the 300 premiere?

Unfortunately, I think 300 is going to be more known for its visuals and **** than its actors. He'll get more recognition from this than his other films to date I'm sure, but I unfortunately doubt this will shoot him to become "the next big thing." But maybe in a year or two--I don't think one movie is gonna do it, but if you look at what's coming up...P.S. I Love You with Hilary, Therese Raquin with Glenn Close which starts filming soon, and Butterfly on A Wheel with Pierce Brosnan...hopefully this will be a nice string of critically-acclaimed and/or big box office take-ins for him, which if he's not the "big thing" will at least give him quite a recognizable name.

BTW, I'm not sure if I posted this here in my string of bumps, but everyone who is a fan of Gerry needs to pop over to you-know-which-site to watch the short film he did called "Please." Brilliant, brilliant acting on his part.

And it's probably someone else who goes by Gerry Butler.

I am going to my room to cry now.

It may not be, I've seen in a few movie credits with his name listed under 'Gerry'. So we can still hold out hope Gerard Butler Besides, he's done a few stage productions in London I believe; and I thought one of them was with Rachel Weiz? I could be wrong?

Right, actually, in the aforementioned "Please" he was credited as Gerry Butler. Plus, this not being a SAG thing, he doesn't have to go by Gerard.

Like I said in the main thread, I made a couple of phone calls, but haven't received confirmation either way, someone thought it was him, someone thought it wasn't. And like I said, this guy isn't in equity, so again, could be good that he's likely not in equity, or bad because...I googled Gerry Butler and went through pages and pages and found nothing but mentions of Gerard. But if this guy is non-equity, maybe that's a reason.

I will continue to make inquiries and will not rest until I have received something one way or another.

The sad thing is Brina, is...everytime I saw some sort of BWW headline about "Butler" being in something, I always dared to hope, but it was almost always Kerry, so I wasn't even hoping this morning, but then to see Gerry Butler...you can imagine why I jumped ahead.

If this another Gerry Butler, he needs to be slapped for having that name.

Not for nothing, but I am really sure Gerard Butler is going to be in a play at the Cherry Lane Studio Theater with Andy Schneeflock. It's not even the main stage.

But seriously, I'm sure it's Gerard. You just keep your hopes up, you guys.

Really excited for that and Nim's Island with Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin. Aww, Gerry will be so cute with Abigail.
