POTO tomorrow! I'm so happy that it's coming tomorrow! Whoohoo! Happy. So all through sixth period tomorrow I'm just going to want to get home and watch it. Of course have to do some study for my AP Spanish exam for Wednesday, but that's okay. So yay.

Heh heh, yaay for having a semester off! It's odd I'm kinda having a countdown to midnight, though I obviously won't be able to get it till tomorrow morning. But I'm soo excited! The DVD is supposed to have a cut Gerry song on it, very curious/excited to see it. It also has Emmy's screen test for the movie, I really would have loved to see Gerry's. Oh well. But yeah I'll most likely be getting it as soon as I wake up, which may end up being earlier than usual b/c I'll be excited. Then again, maybe I'll try to talk myself out of that because then either I'll get it and sleep before I watch it or fall asleep watching it. But woohoo, unless I go into the city tomorrow, in which case I'll prob stay up semi-late to watch, at least by Wed. afternoonish I will have watched the movie and all the features. Wow, Dol is right, I really DO have too much time. Oh well, when I get to spend the time watching Gerry, who can complain?

All day at school I thought of nothing but coming home and watching POTO. That's all I thought about. Then I was happy to open it when I got home and start watching it. It was fun but I turned it off when my mom got home. So there you go. Love it still! So happy! Sort of makes me avoid studying for my AP test tomorrow, but hey I'll do the best I can and then come home and watch it. Again. Whoohoo!

Hahaha, definitely be sure to check out the deleted song "No One Would Listen" on disc 2. It's the same tune as Learn To Be Lonely and in this form, it really goes into the Phantom's head, points of his life, and why he loves Christine, not even obsessed over her, but loves her. I think it really helped to give insight to his character and understand him better. And Gerry performed it great. Once again, put his heart into it, so much emotion, more and more I'm just enamored with him-in this film alone he pulls off so many different emotions-romance, seducing, mysterious, mad, angry, sad, upset, innocent, lost, alone and now further insight into the upset and lost and alone. I'm currently in the middle of the documentary about the stage version, paused it to watch Idol, but can't wait for the documentary about the movie.

And just decided to make another post for this because I can. Watched the DVD and the movie for the 8th time hehe. The widescreen bars seem bigger than usual, making the screen smaller. Oh well. But can I say how awesome it is to have this available to rewind? Heh, watched Music of the Night, Point of No Return and the kiss twice. There'll probably be quite a few times I just put it on for those scenes. Hehe, what a great invention home entertainment is.

That's cool. Will have to watch those. God I love that movie. I love watching Music of the Night everytime. It's amazing to watch. I remember in an interview with Gerard he said that at one point Schumaker(how do you spell that?) told him to be more sexy and his response was "But it's sad!". It was kind of funny. So I'll watch those special features and watch the movie when I get home from that damned AP test tomorrow. Gah!

Ooh, you don't have any idea where that interview came from, do you? I would love to read it! Haha, from various behind the scene/making of thingies I've seen on different stations, you could really feel how much Gerry liked and connected with the part. If it's not mentioned on the DVD when I get to the making of the movie, I'll go to one of my other tapes to get the quote, but he just talked about what an amazing character it was and how he's relatable to everyone and you know really described the character exactly how I would have. He really seemed passionate about it.

Totally agree about Music of the Night, love watching it. Actually I'm a tad confused. I always thought Point of No Return was my favorite scene from the movie between the vocals and the passion and everything, but in my 8th viewing today, I realized that I was enjoying Music of the Night just as much, if not a bit more, because it was just them and didn't cut away to dancers. Decisions, decisions. Oh well, they're both great!

And grrr, between watching American Idol, accidentally falling asleep for over an hour, and more important things coming up I'm only 10 minutes further in the DVD features than I was in my last post. Okay, gonna finish it tonight, I swear.

#132Soooo tired!
Posted: 5/7/05 at 8:08pm

I'm so tired from last night. Prom was last night. We had a pretty good time, but I didn't sleep until at least 2 o'clock. Ugh. Really tired. But it was fun.

I don't know where the interview came from, but I think someone else on here does because it's their signature. So I don't know about that one. I watched some of the special features and they were pretty good. I'm hoping to get my parents to watch POTO sometime soon. Maybe they'll actually enjoy it if they saw it on film.

I like the look that Gerard had for Point of No Return and the chemistry was quite apparent to me in both Point of No Return and Music of the Night. I thought the chemistry between Gerard and Emmy was a lot stronger than between Emmy and Patrick. Still love that movie. I'm trying to not watch it so much I get sick of it, but I want to watch it again with my parents.

So I'll talk to you later.

I'm officially resurrecting this thread. So bump.

Does Patrick Wilson change his facial expressions at all in POTO? I notice Gerard does it a lot with each new emotion, but don't see much change for Patrick. Maybe it's just me.

Yaay for the revival thread. I meant to bump it with my new beautiful icon. I think it's more the character than Patrick's fault. Gah, just not a Raoul fan.

In other news, don't know if I mentioned I finally saw Mrs. Brown...that scene....ahh. Why couldn't Phantom have a wonderful scene like that...Christine and the Phantom randomly run naked into a lake...I see it!

No you didn't mention you'd seen Mrs. Brown. Yeah that scene was very interesting. Lol. Dontcha love that movie? It's really great.

I love the new icon. I was going to have mine be my bf in drag(for a play), but then thought not. Although they really are humorous. He makes a very pretty girl. Okay maybe pretty isn't the right word, but hey.

Yea I love the new icon.

Maybe it was the character. I don't know. The one thing I like about Raoul in the musical/ movie is that they didn't make him the crying baby that he was in the book.

Actually, the rest of Mrs. Brown kinda put me to sleep aside from special Gerry scenes. Oh well.

Funny, I'm staying with my best friend from college in West Virginia and I just made her watch the movie. Fortunately, she agreed Gerry was gorgeous but she ended up liking Raoul more than the Phantom which made me very angry. She screamed in sadness when she thought he was gonna kill Raoul. Hrmph.

I tend to like the Phantom more. My friend and I are in love with Gerard as the Phantom. She hates Raoul with such venom it's actually kind of funny at times. But gotta love her passion for the Phantom. She thinks Christine should have stayed with the Phantom. She's great.

My boyfriend got me Phantom by Susan Kay as a graduation present. I'm in the middle of finishing the tenth series of unfortunate events, but after that I'm going to read Phantom. I'm so happy. I was going to get it, but he got it instead. So I'll be reading it very shortly. It's a used copy, but in good condition so that's fine. It's the thought that counts. So I'm happy.

I'll definitely tell you how I like Phantom. I absolutley love my boyfriend and his mom right now. It was nice of both of them. Especially his mom.

Yeah it is nice to see other people posting here besides the two of us. Every once and awhile this thread will sort of die and then it's revived again and again. Always fun.

Anyways my commencement is tomorrow. Finally graduate and then move on to other things. Amazing!

Talk to ya'll later. Gotta go to Shakespeare rehearsal.

Wow, fun racetrack! Did they get it because I was telling you about it? I'd feel cool, haha.

Aww Liz, lucky. I saw Dear Frankie in a really small theatre in DC that plays documentaries, independent films and foreign films. But the game of their lives wasn't even playing there. Grrr.

On another exciting note, going to a friend's house tonight who loves musicals but never saw POTO movie! It's been about a month since I last saw it, woohoo!

Nick saw me hunting for it one day when we were in the Library on the late arrival days. So yeah he did notice that and also read this thread for awhile. Heheheh. He already knew I liked Gerry it's perfectly fine with him. He likes Natalie Portman which is fine with me so we're even.

Cool. Have fun tonight! You'll have to tell us what your friend thinks of the movie.

Still working on that one. Most of the friends I have who've seen the movie like Patrick Wilson. So I'm kind of one of the only people that I know of who likes Gerry. I have a friend who claims she has seen Dracula 2000 and said that he's ugly in that. Oh well. She will eventually see POTO, but not with me. I would have to explain too much to her during the movie.

Aww, my friends have gone both ways, some of them liked Patrick better. The last time I watched was interesting, my friend loved the character of Raoul(eww) but thought Gerry was quite sexy. So I was able to deal with that.

Dracula 2000...horrible movie, but hot Gerry. That scene where they're having sex and float up to the ceiling. *swoons*
