Oooh and to clarify I find Chitty enjoyable but obviously know its not much more than a spectacle...but if you're choosing between odd couple and chitty with chitty closing so soon, I'd say chitty...
Personally, skip both and go see Piazza...ooooh...or Sweeney!
Cat, we're certainly in agreement there. Like I said, can't speak for Odd Couple, not having seen it.
*bounce bounce*
(will explain later)
do you guys know when Nathan is leaving odd couple? cause I want to see it before he leaves. not sure yet. my mom might want to see odd couple with me. but I should see Chitty for the car and music.
does anyone have the cast recording for chitty?
Dre: i have the london cast of chitty. the new broadway one with raul isn't out yet. at least i don't think it is.
and yeah chitty is good but go for sweeney todd. i can't wait to see it over xmas break.
They're not releasing a broadway cast recording for Chitty. And it depresses me.
yeah they are. last i heard it comes out the 22nd.

edit that: ok nevermind they must have canceled it. i just looked on the new release page and they took it off. that's kinda sad i was gonna get it too.

hi everyone...Tuesday and Thursday make me tired...I go to work at 9am and I got home from my English class at 9pm. So it's pretty tough. And tomorrow I will go swimming at 6am...well that is not written in stone!
I am just too tired now, but I will be here tomorrow and for both cam on Saturday.
"Hi JOhn! Annie sends her love!" - thanks Mamie for being so kind and sending my love to him.
Its all for NY annie!!
The recording listed for the 22nd was never a broaday cast recording of Chitty it was a US release of the London Cast Recording...
Its tragic...
But my computer has miraculously healed itself...yay!....But I lost my gloves...Boo!
Okay now that it's 100% confirmed I can now explain my "bounce." Sorry many of you got this in an IM but:
I just got a FREE ticket to woman in white's opening night tonight!!! eeeeee!!!
2nd free ticket I've gotten for not having much of a life and being wayy too addicted to BWW, so that I'm the first to respond to extra ticket offers/threads.
I love Michael Ball and ALW must be there and like I said in the past he's one of my fav composers and god if I got to meet him...course he's a composer, I'm a musician, don't think I'd get any clear words out...
and other ppl that will be ther and the silliest thought that the lovely man in my thread was...well in a Webber movie...so he certainly should have been invited to opening night...and he may attend...and if he does..I will DIE.
If I never post here again, you all will know why.
EEEEEEE
yay, amanda! wow-alw!
this is the man, afterall, who wrote the musical that gave gerry butler the chance to shine and therefore grace your screen with his lovely presense. have fun! :) and tell me how it is.
oh! Pride and Prejudice comes out the same day as RENT! should i do a double feature? lol
Grace my screen...*le sigh*
::imagines meeting ALW::
::imagines shaking as she speaks, tells him how wonderful and talented he is, what a fan I am, esp. of phantom and the movie::
::imagines slipping him a $20 w/ my phone # on it to give to $20::
Course, a $20 to ALW means less than a penny does to me...ahh well.
Cat: didn't know that. i thought it was already wide release. but then now that i think about it the barnes and noble by me had no clue what i was talking about but virgin records in NY did.
ok well i'm peacing out. i'm working wardrobe for Blast tonite. hopefully i won't pounce on any of the drumline boys.... :::drools:::
OMG! I LOVE BLAST!
I WANT TO *BE* IN BLAST! (if only they accepted woodwinds! garrrr)

i'm freezing!! i want summer back!
Amanda and any others planning on going to the Gypsy of the Year Awards show - both shows are the same. Each participating musical cast puts on the same routine each night. The only reason they have 2 shows is to give more people a chance to see the show. At the end of the second night a panel of celebrity judges will give an award to the best presentation. Then the plaques will be given to the top money makers.
By the way - the shows are presented early in the evening so the casts of the various musicals will have time to return to their theatres for the evening performances.
"Gypsy of the Year Awards show"
*Bad Broadway fan Catherine* I have noo idea what these are anyone care to elucidate?
hehe I'm going to midnight showing of Harry Potter tonight...cause I'm just that cool..ahem...
Yesterday during the cam Greg mentioned that he was giving the BC/EFA speech that night. He then said that he was giving a BC/EFA group a special backstage tour. Some others here wondered what that was and this is what I posted:
BC/EFA? what? confused. i know that is some sort of charity thing but tour group?
___________________
Greg's giving the BC/EFA speech at the end of the show. I'm GUESSING that anybody who makes a donation of a certain dollar value or higher will get a backstage tour conducted by Mr. Greg Jbara.

When I went John offered a tee shirt with one of his drawings on the front. To hike up the bidding, he autographed it. Then to make the bidding even higher, he offered to draw a picture of the high bidder on the back and then give that bidder a back stage tour. These are the kinds of things all the casts of the different shows do to raise money for BC/EFA before Christmas. It's kind of a contest to see which show raises the most money.

It will go on till December 5. On 12/5 and 12/6 there will be a special variety show that is put on by all the gypsy's in each of the Broadway musicals. Usually they put on skits that make fun of each other. (Like DRS and Spamalot making fun of each other). Honestly - it's the best show I've ever seen in NY! REALLY worth getting a ticket for.
There will be a special awards ceremony during the show when the top earners will be presented with plaques. Awards are also given for the top earners in plays and off-Broadway shows and touring companies. All of them are doing this fund raising right now.
This tells you all about it: http://www.broadwaycares.org/events/gypsy.cfm
wow that sounds great...thx mamie!
i'm gonna thread jack here only cuz i'm in such a p&p mood:
*sigh* i dont know if any of u are interested, but, the american version of the film is about 8 minutes longer than the European version! why? because the europeans didn't like the American "schmootzy" ending! yes! there are more kissing scenes in our version!
oh, it's great to be an American, isn't it? hahaha
Gonna see it sunday...annnnd I get extra credit in my Brit lit class for going!
It is a great show, Cat. I wish I were going to be in NY to see it! Amanda knows all of the gypsy's in DRS and most of them know her. She'll get an extra kick out of seeing their skit.
Actually we'll all be able to see it eventually. The show will be taped and sold a little later on. I'll find the link for the order for you if you or anyone else here is interested.
mamie: yay! my quote is first. lol. Would love to go, but it;s during college. if it was after the 12th, i would totally go.
you know what would be funny? if DRS added an Amanda character since she is always there. or Kerrie. lol.
amanda: yay for you getting the ticket. how did you get it?
oh, greg put me on the search to find out who this other mysterious Greg jbara is, but I haven't found out much. I know he did guitar, vocals, and mastering for the cd Secluded, performed by Spare Lead. this other greg is not in the band and his name wasn't mentioned in the recording company page, and I went through 40+ pages of a google search on the name "gregory Jbara". but I'm going to keep trying.
tape of the gypsy of the year show. yay!
Whew just got back and going to bed. I was supposed to see Rent with Amanda tonight but she got that ticket to WiW and Kat could not stay for Rent (And amanda won the lotto too). But it all worked out okay in the end. Amanda and I rescheduled for Rent and Kat and I saw Jarhead (It was...okay) and then I met up with Amanda at the stage door of WiW after. She got everyone's autograph. We then proceeded to the DRS and it wasn't too crowded. Norbert came out, signed stuff, and I told him about the site. As I told him, hes like "Everyone listen carefully to that" so it looks like I have an unoffical confirmation to unlock the site by this weekend. He seemed pretty excited so I am pysched. He told me to leave a note by the stage door the next time I come but I am not sure what he means. Of course, I won't have to wait long. Kat, Amnada, and I got the tickets for Sat night! Anyway I told him the address and the password so I hope he checks it out. Oh and Amanda got her pic with John finally (yay). Kevin wasnt there so he stopped and took a pic. Greg came out later but he was talking to some people and he left with them. So we did not want to bother him. Afterwords, I went with Amanda to see the DRS bowling team and I watched them bowl a game. However I left around 1 am so I can get home and get some sleep. Tomorrow, I am proofreading the website one final time before launch. Oh and listening to Dre of course ^^ Good night all.
Oh and Amanda is the master stage doorer. She's dedicated and sharp for sure.
