amanda, that sounds cool. I don't know if it is worth it to try and find tickets for the show. there was a really bad review for Julia online. going to find it.
here is an example (but I don't think this is it):

most of the reviews are not that good.
annie! guess what? I learning how to play "Love Sneaks In" for Piano class performance! and so far, I can play the intro. and it sounds awesome!
I'm here to say...HOT CROSS BUNS.
This thread shall not die.
It's also International High Five Day! So I hope everyone got some high fives in. I sure did!
Hmm...High five day AND pot day...
There has to be a correlation...

Oh man, I was totally signing out of school today to go to my college class when I remembered that it was High Five Day and I started high fiving everyone, it was a BLAST!
I adore high fives. They're the coolest things since bread slicers.
It's also Hitler's birthday!
...er, wait.

I just used "Oh man!", "totally", and "a blast!" in the same post. And I'm Southern... there may be something wrong with me...
Okay...we all know I'm crazy, but I think I'm moreso than we all ever thought...
I just bought one of the $500 Rent benefit tickets.
Well moving on...I'm off to watch Greg's chatterbox! Yaay!

Wow... I'm really excited for you, you maybe crazy but there is nothing wrong with that! It just adds excitement to your life, am I right or what?
amanda, you scared me. I thought you meant the "something" show on 56. or something like that but that is not till next week.
man, I really missed out on High Five day. got nothing!
Hi all,
Today is also my Grandmother's 90th birthday. And I think I broke my toe. As for CBGBs it is a club in the village that actually has been in the news lately (they are losing their lease). I believe The Ramones and Blondie got their starts there (or somthing like that). Anyway, the shirts are from my friend Lisa, who I saw the show with a few weeks ago. I have one too as do my kids (actually 2 of tehm got hoodies from Lisa).
good to know (about CBGB). thanks malki!
Dre...what something show? I'm really confused.
Julia...true. I mean, I spent the whole evening rationalizing it. My family will all give me money for my birthday to go towards it...I made like $360 on Ebay...ooh wait actually...$480. Hmm, there's my money right there! Plus, I made $250 from pit, I'm sure I'll make some sort of money this summer, and I worked my whole senior year for a couple thousand, so that's where the $500 came from.
I was apprehensive about so much money for so little time...but...what things more would I want the money to go to? It's money that's been sitting in my account, usually I spend it for trips...but hey I didn't go anywhere since summer, so there. I win.
the show is called "Something to Offer." like a talk show or something. They are interviewing Greg.
and I jsut realized I can't make it. damn.
Okay, now for Greg's chatterbox.
It is soo worth the $20!
He brought the mac there to hook up to Seth's TV to show video clips! Seth was mesmerized by his intelligence in doing that.
Some of those videos including his first-ever TV appearance(two short scenes in Newhart, where he unexpectedly stayed with him and his wife in a hotel room, and then popped up in their car at the end of the episode?
Also, his first commercial for a cereal I think. He didn't speak, he just reached for the cereal. A young Lauren Holly was in it too. Also another commercial he did for a cereal where his voice suddenly become little-boy like.
And uhh...well...he had very interesting hair. Pure black and...a tad high. I kinda think his hair is much better now, even with the gray.
Umm, he toured on this show with Seth actually that he went naked, and if you stood on either side of the balcony, you could see...everything.
And apparently in Damn Yankees, 7-year old me saw the back of him completely naked. I, uhh, don't remember that. Apparently he was told to relax his...behind, not clench it. Ohh, but talk about some crazy stage door stories...women would grab his ass!! That's uhh...highly inappropriate.
Umm, he had a really great/interesting audition for DRS. Some of this I knew, some I didn't. O'Hare chose Charity over Scoundrels(at the time Charity was cancelled so Greg and Seth were laughing about that choice) and Greg basically said he was the only name of people auditioning that he himself didn't recognize--everyone else was film & tv, well known. But he really wanted the part, and really prepared. He sang Chimp In A Suit accompanied by a sketch pad. Like, the first page had things about being the French police dude in French...and finally when he got to the end, his last doodle revealed George W. Bush as the chimp in a suit!!
They loved that. Jack O'Brien, having worked with him in Damn Yankees, was already sold on him, so he just had to meet with David and Jeffrey one more time and then he got the part. Apparently, he only did that to use as a safety...he scribbled the words on the bottom of each page.
He said he doesn't know how Norbert isn't hospitalized...ooh he saw him as the Emcee of Cabaret in LA and knew how talented he was from that performance. He described John as one of the greatest guys ever, I mean raved about everyone, as we expect. Seth mentioned how great Joanna looks and Greg said well yeah she really takes care of herself, she yells at him about things he's not supposed to eat.
So finally they showed a bit of Damn Yankees from the '94 Tonys. The person announcing it was so funny, decided Damn was two syllables and pronounced it Damm-na Yankees. And the song they performed was Shoeless Joe, but the guy playing Joe..ooh, Jarrod Emick(sp?) got...a little lost at one point. Greg and some other dude was carrying him, and when they put him down he had no idea where he was supposed to go. He ended up going all the way to the end, where Vicki Lewis was supposed to be last. Everyone else went about their business but Greg noticed and gave him a WTF are you doing look. Hehe.
Finally, the chatterbox ended with bloopers from Friends. In the course of 4 minutes, Donny Osmond tripped on a wire, Kevin S. Bright imitated Donny's fall, and best of all, Matt LeBlanc "giving Greg a blow job."
ETA: Ah, Dre. I see.
I wish I was theeeeere. *whines* That's so adorable, little cereal-selling Greg! D'aww!
need to see chatterbox!
ok, got to finich spanish hw. too early. test soon.
kerrie, if you are here, saw the pic of Brian D'Arcy on facebook. go you!
Leaving this morning to go stalk Kerrie and Cat and all of you other NYC dwelling people.
Have fun mon petit Mary!
I wish Joanna could be my nutritionist and not the scary lady that actually is.
I saw two Joanna look a likes in the past two days. One last night, when I was seeing Grease, and one in NJ.
I can't believe I'm up so early when I went to bed at one. I didn't pack anything at all though and they're picking me up around noon so I should probably go do something...
My stage-mananger friend/Joanna look-a-like is going nutsybomb right now. EVITA is in previews...actually, it opens tonight...that show has some crazy-fast calls to make and loads of people and she's losing her mind. I bought her a big bag of licorice that I'm going to leave in her office today.
Awwwwww. I just read Shanni's report on Greg! It's so precious and she's very well spoken. (And again, her hair seriously kicks my hair's ass and I spend entire paychecks on hair dye and product.)
Thanks Meghan! As for her hair, I thank God everyday that my one and only daughter got gorgeous hair. She did, however cut a piece of it the other day because there was a knot and she didn't want to brush it, which means we might have to cut it completely now. She hasn't cut it since she she donated it almost 2 years ago and it was almost long enough to do it again. The colors are magnificant though, every shade from blond to red.
I think it's great that your daughter donates her hair when she gets it cut. I do the same thing. I'll only get it cut if it's long enough to donate to Locks of Love.
And the reviews for Threepenny make me sad.
10 days of school left!
