My favorite line of the night-Heidi telling Vincent" there's a thin line between creativity and insanity" or something to that effect. And lo and behold, insanity wins out!

I love Laura. She is bitchy, yes, but she's great.
I actually thought Angela's dress was pretty interesting this week - she continues to grow on me. And, I did not see any flowers this time!
I just cannot believe who went home and who stayed - though I can live with who won!
I am so pissed Alison got kicked off. I thought they would kick Vincent off because he has been in the bottom a lot and this was Alison's first time. But of course they go with Vincent. Eh this show drives me crazy. Last week my favorite guy went home and now ond of my favorite girls goes home. What's next?

Okay, so Alison designed a ****ty Amber Von Tussle dress. But does that discount the work she did with Jeffrey to finish Keith's creation? Or the absolutely lovely Farrah look last week? Or that GORGEOUS Japanese inspired outfit and matching dog outfit? WTF? Jesus, Vincent's Raggedy Ann as crack whore dress last week was worse than what she did tonight.
As much as I love Michael, he didn't deserve the win. Jeffrey did. Michael didn't even warrant a top three spot, although of course he deserved to be safe. IMO, Robert (who was back in great form this week--loved the silver cocktail dress!) or Uli should have been in his spot.
Sometimes the wins confound me. Daniel V. won for his billowy orchid top last year that, while very cool looking, paled in comparison to Andre's sensational gutter water gown.
I can't figure out the criteria for judging...they're never consistent. They kept Robert in last week because they believed in his talent although the piece was subpar. Which--great--was fine with me. But why not extend the same courtesy to Alison this week, who is also very talented? I guess beause Vincent brings the crazy, and crazy equals fun viewing. Dramatic TV aside, though, there's no way he's got a shot at WINNING this. Alison may have, and that's why I'm kind of sad for her.

I'm pretty pissed but I was just praying Kayne would stay in.

Oh, and Laura is an excellent designer, and I usually like her a lot, but she was annoying tonight. I HATE when people offer unsolicited advice, especially when it's pretty obvious that it's unwelcome, and the tone is condescending. Kayne had a right to be annoyed, as did Vincent. She should have STFU when they were backstage after the elimination. Her commentary was totally out of line. I laughed at Vincent's Harry Winston comment.

I just noticed this thread and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the secret surprise guest that they showed at the end of the preview of the next episode.
I think they are letting Alison come back. I have no way to back this up I just really like her and I'm trying to find a way to deny she was sent home! Plus, I think the judges might have realized she is actually a talented designer but just had a difficult time with the challenge.
And the shadow kinda looked like her.

they mentioned "everyday woman" and they always love bringing back past contestants, so I thought it was probably Wendy Pepper.

So is anyone else up and watching the reruns?
They certainly do some wierd things with winners. Last season's winner should have been that young boy.
And on another note: I get more and more annoyed with the redhead as the season goes on.
I called her sarah before...i dont know why.

Sarah??
I don't think Laura's comments are all unsolicited, or at least, not as out of nowhere as the way the episode it edited makes it appear. And even if they were, I think upfront honesty is far better than the way Kayne and Robert talked about Laura behind her back. And in the case of her lashing out at Vincent, this is something I have waited for for three seasons: someone getting genuinely mad that the wrong person is being sent home. And her reasons were based on his garment. It's a passion I find refreshing. And Vincent had nothing to say back. His model WAS nearly unable to walk. And the judges all told him so. He had nothing to defend himself with, and he resorted to the "Harry Winstons up your nose" comment. That's...adult.
I dislike both Kayne and Robert. Strongly. They so want to be the funny, bitchy, camera-time receiving "characters"...except that they are painfully unfunny. I don't advocate mocking others, but if you're going to do it for the sake of good TV, at least be funny (and have good TV come out of it)
Look at Laura's comments. Kayne made the wrong choices in his outfit. Laura sometimes questions Kayne's choices. Laura doesn't get the hair and makeup styling Kayne went with. Vincent is crazy and his model couldn't walk well. With the exception of the "crazy" comment, which is far too accurate to be thought of as a jab, all of those comments were design based. And you know what? They were all issues that the judges pointed out as well. Regardless of whether or not Kayne likes her, listening might not have been such a bad idea. She comes off cold, but I don't think she meant anything bad.
Kayne and Robert, on the other hand, offer nothing constructive, and make snarky comments behind other people's backs. And they aren't funny. I love a smart jab. I'm just waiting for one of them to actually be smart enough to make one.
And I didn't get the plastic wrap. I would have voted for Jeffrey.

" don't think Laura's comments are all unsolicited, or at least, not as out of nowhere as the way the episode it edited makes it appear."
I see your point. When I get home from work I'll see if Tim's podcast is up. Maybe there is more to it. To me, it looked like her comments came out of nowhere, and as much as Alison didn't deserve to be auf'ed, I stand by HATING unsolicited commentary...she is their peer, not Tim Gunn. Still like Laura, but I was annoyed last night (and yes, you may be correct that it had to do with the editing more than the actual events).

ok i have to say that i REALLAY do not like jeffrey. and i was completely done with him after the whole quack thing. however, i really think he deserved to win last night. his dress was better than michaels (although michaels was great too). im glad that jeffrey didnt win but he really deserved to win.
i really liked angelas dress (not a winner but it was great). very unique. ive never seen anything like that before.
lauras was fabulous as always. i think her and michael are prob almose guaranteed to the final 3 if they keep it up.
vincent. what the hell was that. seriously, art is great but not on a dress. it litereally looked like trash.
alisons dress was just bad. i falt bad for her. she really was good and i dont think she should have gone home, especially if you look at the stuff she has done in the past. (but i really HATED the models hair, ugh, that was just bad)
kaynes dress, actually it kind of reminded me of santinos flower dress from last season. anyone else see that?
roberts was another one i liked. i dont think it should have won but it was great and it looked like an actual dress.
and finally uli. i loved the detail she put on that dress. it was gorgeous!

"kaynes dress, actually it kind of reminded me of santinos flower dress from last season. anyone else see that? "
I disagree. Kayne's was a mess. I thought Santino's garden party dress was a stunner.
"they mentioned "everyday woman" and they always love bringing back past contestants, so I thought it was probably Wendy Pepper."
Oh God, I hope not! And the contestants seemed way too psyched with the reveal. Can't see anyone going ape**** over Wendy.
I was thinking--and so did my sister, actually--maybe it's domestic goddess Martha Stewart? She's part of the NBC family, and Bravo loves to do that crossover sh*t with their reality show stars (i.e. Kathy Griffin and the fab five, Jonathan Antin supposedly showing up on the finale of Workout next week, etc.) Martha is more about lifestyle than fashion, but maybe it'll be something like design a dinner party dress for Martha.

o, im not saying that kaynes equaled santinos in any way. just the shape and everything. thats what came to my mind when i saw it, thats all. santinos was great and kaynes was a mess. i completely agreee. just the shape was the same.
"Bring back my Santino!"
Seriously, blueroses, a couple of "characters" like Kayne and Vincent really make you miss an ACTUAL character like Santino. Tim Gun impressions? The "It's Just Fashion" song? I want your soul?
Plus, he had more fun ideas. You would see a Santino outfit and go, "That's crazy!" but now you see a Vincent outfit and go, "Um...I think...no, no...I'm sure. That man is crazy. Do they have to share a room with him? Is that safe?"
"I can't figure out the criteria for judging...they're never consistent."
Well, after all, this is a "show" and the eliminations and judging aren't totally based on merit. They have to keep it entertaining, so the judging and editing are geared towards their most important factor-ratings!
No one really sticks out on this season for me. There are some outfits that are out there though and those are the ones I really like!
After last nights episode, I have really lost faith in this show. I don't watch the show because of Vincent's "entertainment" value. I watch because I love seeing what these talented designers come up with. As much as I don't like Jeffrey, his dress should have one last night. Especially since the judges said his was the most wearable. He is somewhat bitter though. What a shame that Angela put crap out there early on, and she was saved each and every time. Alison consistently made wonderful outfits and she's auf'd for one faux pas. Give me a break!!
Tim's podcast is usually up by now, so I'm kind of interested in hearing what he has to say.
I know it's only a show, but augh!!!

wyou17: "Designers, rock the casbah."
I was also a little skeeved when Vincent kept saying (re: his design) "it gets me off, man, it gets me off!"
Yes, that was pretty disgusting.
As obnoxious as they try to make Jeffrey appear, he ruled last night. that dress was fabulous. they're not cutting him any breaks whatsoever.
And you see, those comments get Vincent air time. I just don't get him. As far as I'm concerned, he's out of his league on this show.
