I saw Colin Firth in a commercial for a really bad-looking kiddy movie today and nearly wept. He's over twice my age, but I feel in love with him when I saw Pride and Prejudice when I was 10.
Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice is my downfall. I will lieterally just decide every couple of months that I'm devoting a night to watching P&P and watch all six hours in one sitting. Mr. Darcy just makes me melt in any incarnation, but no one will surpass Firth's. I loved Colin in Bridget Jones and Girl with a Pearl Earring as well, but it is sad to see him doing bad movies (What a Girl Wants, etc.).
See? Slightly Darcy-esque, or at least fun to look at.
Edit: uhh... not sure what happened to the link. It worked before.

I liked What A Girl Wants. It technically wasn't a good movie, but he looked really good in it. Actually the more I watched it, the more I liked it. I like a goofy movie once in a while. But Hope Springs...blech! Went straight to DVD in the US.
But back to Raul...he does wear those breeches well.
He looks really sexy in period clothes. Wow.
Anyway, I was walking by load-out again yesterday, and they actually let us inside for a couple of minutes, which was really amazing. We had missed the car by a couple of hours, but the candy factory set piece was out.
Ooh, I love the Colin Firth P&P. It was on recently, so I taped it and watch it quite a bit. Don't think I've ever made it through in one day but gah, I love it.
Skittles, what did you think of Wicked at KC?

What happens to the car now? To storage? Is that where everything else goes? Or do they break it all down and get rid of it or recycle it?
Apparently the stuff is going to Japan. I don't know if people are going to like it any better in Japan than they did here, but... well, it's peculiar!
I just got back from seeing the new P&P! It was excellent.
Raul in those clothes....so. hot.
I love, love, love Pride and Prejudice. But, that's not news to anyone who knows me. Colin is perfection, but I do love the new Darcy. Hell, I loved everyone who ever played Darcy from Olivier to the guy in that strangely Mormon modern adaptation. And yes, Raul wears period clothes well (a mark of a true man, in my opinion, because if you're not that confident - or attractive - you can look ridiculous in those pants). Ok, ladies. I'll stop now.
I think it's just the mark of an ATTRACTIVE man. "True man" is a little much for this one.
So plane tickets to Cincinatti are really expensive.
That reminds me, I need to see the Olivier version of Pride and Prejudice. I've really liked him in other things, so I can see him making a good Mr. Darcy.
I agree that only real men can pull off Regency-era clothes without looking totally ridiculous. Raul passes this test.
I can't stop staring... he looks so good....

Yes...he does.
That Olivier Darcy and P&P.....um, it's different. Rather amusing...for possibly the wrong reasons.
Ugh, travel plans. I've had a nightmare of a time booking train tickets/hotel reservations for my trip to NYC this spring. Amtrak's website is not user-friendly at all, and somehow hotel prices seem to change drastically every time I look.
Good luck finding affordable tickets to Cinci! If I can go at all, we'll be driving.
My mom can't drive long distances, and she's afraid to let me drive more than about half an hour at a time. I wouldn't mind splitting the drive with her or my dad, but I don't think they're willing to go quite to that length for me, my lust, my love for something they don't love, and my half-baked plans.

How many hours is it? How many miles?
Do you not drive much? Is that why your mom's afraid to let you drive more than half an hour?
I think it's about a 6 or 7 hour drive, as opposed to a little over an hour by plane.
I've only had my license for... a little over two years, but I barely ever drive, because I live in NYC most of the time. My mom thinks I've forgotten how to drive.

That's how far I thought it was.
I could see if she's concerned about city driving, but it's practically all highway. And only one way to get better... Practice!
Insist you must drive daily for hours when home. You've got time. (Of course, maybe not the gas $$). It's not until March.
That's why she's concerned; highways. It's not that hard! Alas, I won't be home for more than a day or two at a time before March. I'm planning to go to Cincinatti on my spring break.
Driving 6-7 hours is not fun, but I'd totally do it for Raul! Unfortunately, I have no one to do it with me, I don't think.
My mom always thinks I forget how to drive, but I took my driver's test after having not driven once in 4 months and passed with flying colors. She's just neurotic.
I'm probably driving with my dad. We're both okay with long distance driving, so it'll be fine. I may fly back to school, though, since I don't want to deal with going all the way back to DC just to backtrack to fly north again. Whatever. I can't wait
I'm determined to figure out something. My dad is okay with the driving, and he would split it with me, but he REALLY has no desire to go. He may not even totally hate it, but he just doesn't want to go.

I love road trips! Pfft, 6 or 7 hours. A blink of an eye.
Interesting... it's about a 6 hour drive for me, too. The friend I might drag along lived in Cincinnati for a year, so she's pretty used to the drive.
The lack of serious Raul-love these past few weeks has made me sad.
So I'm going to make it happy.
