I think it would be cool to see a nominated show on Tony day. There would be so much nervous/excited energy bouncing around the theatre. I say go for it! :)
lol you totally sold me..I'm going to do student rush..
Glad I could help you with that oh-so-difficult decision!

Now I want to go too! But I dont think I can blow off our company.. and by the time I get home the awards will already have started.
I wish I lived closer to the city sometimes
Obsessed, we expect reviews when you return!!
Hah, I wish MN were just a tad closer to New York. I've never been to a show on Tony day, but I'm sure all the tension and energy are indeed palpable.
They're all probably really nervous. I think being there today would make ME nervous!
I saw Sweeney the day of the Tony's last year and there was definitely a lot of excitment in the air. The audience was really into the show too, and most of them stood when Mano came out at the curtain call, and cheered even louder when Patti and Michael came out. And the stage door was fun too because some of them were half dressed for the awards and just really excited.

I'm just too nervous of a person in general, but I have no idea how they perform today and then go straight to the awards. I would be a wreck -- but they are performers so obviously they're used to it.
I wonder how much pressure is put on them on a day like today versus any other day
You guys, my stomach is clenching and in knots. I'm so nervous! Why is Raul's category at the very end?!
I really hope I can be online tonight while watching the awards, too. I need to see if I can get internet on my laptop while in the tv room.
If Raul wins, I'm taking my whole family to see Company on Tuesday.

In that interview that Jenna posted the other day, Raul said something like "if we're performing what I think we're performing, I'm worried about making history"
I dont know if, at that point, he had Being Alive in mind since he used "we" but you never know. Ah, I'm excited!
I am pretty sure that "Being Alive" is the performance at the Tonys. Don't know whether he was using the royal "we" or he is just so accustomed to referring to the ensemble that way.
EDIT: Hugh (on the main board) posted some Tony rehearsal pics in his paparazzi blog. Looks like Raul's performing sans piano.

I was wondering what that "we" was about too... Ah well, it's gonna be great.
I'm just scared that the show's going to run late. After the three hour mark my sister gets the tv, so I might miss the big awards... Here's hoping he sings early in the show, at least!
The piano's probably just out of the viewing frame of the picture. It looks like he's giving it his all, at least. Ahh, I'm so excited!
Stopping by to show love for Raul! I'm routing for him tonight!!
The Tonys rarely go over time, jenna. Broadway knows how to do live shows.
They're talking to Raul and John on NY1 right now.
The whole company was on top of their game today, Raul especially. Three of us waited and all of them came out dressed for the Tonys and they all looked amazing. Raul came out about 20 minutes later and he was incredibly nervous but that's completely understandable.
The rest of the cast members were really excited..didn't really sense any nerves from them.

That's a beautiful picture. My internet access is pretty limited, so I missed the NY1 interviews.
Anyway, best of luck to Raul and his castmates. Here we go...
*pokes head in*
That pic makes me REALLY excited for his performance tonight. Because it looks stripped from the show. As it should be :)
Rooting for him tonight! Hopefully, his category will be announced from 10-11 so I can watch it live :)
I think that's probably a safe bet, Chica. Hopefully the performance will be within that time frame, too. The picture is great!

Did I miss anything? I'm just tuning in now - our Company ran over
You missed the 4-page thread on the main board explaining in detail what's passed.

Obsessed, I'm jealous that you got to see the cast at the stagedoor in their Tony threads
