I want to marry Raúl E. Esparza, but he refuses to leave his wife for me.

I'm not saying anything...
lol, "us mortals." Well, the car was already there when she called - she was like, two feet away from it. So who knows.
One day, Raul saw fit to announce to the stage door crowd that he had to go to church after he was done. I guess it was in walking distance, 'cause the car wasn't there, but everyone was like "... thanks for sharing." heh.

What a good little boy. I'm guessing it was after a matinee
I think it was a Sunday? I'm Jewish, so what do I know, but it seems that would make sense.
I forget which street St. Malachy's (the actors' church) is on but I have always wondered if Broadway actors actually go there. I assume morning services are just too early for late night types.

lol! I always forget that there are late day masses on Sundays. I used to be a lector at the 5 o'clock and that was the last one of the day, heh
Completely OT - but in our local churches there are family-friendly services at 9 am - go only if you want kids running all over the church. Then there are what I like to call the singles services at 7:30 on Sunday evening. Still time to catch a late dinner afterwards.

lol! singles services...
just because I love this picture and had forgotten about it:
... and all these weeks later, I still have no clue what to say to that picture.
I think that's the first time I've seen that picture. It's an odd mix of cute and frightening...

I can't lie, I'd love to take a picture like that with him, heh
I really liked his outfit that night
He looks pretty drunk.
Raul and Orfeh getting drunk together? I want a video of that. Now.
That picture is great!
Completely OT but I saw Heather Laws' husband coming out of the Jersey Boys stage door today. When I stage-doored at Company I knew I recognized him but couldn't for the life of me remember where I had seen him. He is in the orchestra there which I didn't know until I looked in the playbill.
sorry random..continue
I thought he looked familiar too, but I could never place him!
But yes, back to the subject at hand...
*pokes head in*
One quick question [because I figure you gals can help me out]
How is Raul in regards to fan letters? [I'm considering writing him one]. Not that I'm expecting anything back, I just think it would be nice to write to him.
*dashes out*

Eh... I know he was good about it during Company, but now that you can't send it to a theater... I wouldn't know.
And that answered your question entirely, didn't it?
I'd want to see Raul drunk period.
He was super-fast with fanmail in Company - he must have been really bored.
i heard they may forward mail if it goes to the theatre...but other than that, i don't know where you would send it now.
I know I can't send it to the theatre, but I was thinking he must have an agent.
He'll be the first actor I've actually written a letter to, so that's why I was inquiring about fanmail.

I think there's a contact link on his website to e-mail a webmaster. Maybe they can help? They probably have the contact info for his agent(s).
That is a really cute picture.
Don't they normally foward mail for at least 2 weeks? I'm not sure if that's the policy for when shows close, but usually when a performer leaves a show they will still foward mail for a short period of time.
Random, but...
I was just downloading some of the new seminars from the American Theatre Wing website, and I found Raul's "Downstage Center" interview.
Have you all heard it? It was done while he was in "Chitty", and it's all interesting, but the last twenty minutes he talks about "Tick Tick...Boom!", the Sondheim summer at the Kennedy Center, the whole "Taboo" experience and a really adorable part about the kids in "Chitty" - it's fantastic. He's really had an extraordinary career already, and he's SO well spoken and sincere.
Here's the link...definitely worth throwing on your ipod (as is Barbara Walsh's, by the way)!
