I agree: I was shocked, but Laura Benanti was REMARKABLE. I finally get why people like her.
If my head is in the sand, and I personally think that it isn't, who on earth are you to judge me? Who said it was your business if I think that Raul Esparza is the f*cking king of the universe? The state of denial that I may or may not be in is absolutely none of your business to analyze or judge.
Who on earth are you to judge me? Who said it was your business if I think Raul is the biggest dick on the planet? You're the one that started this by analyzing and judging my posts for daring express an opinion of Raul that isn't 100% sunshine and happiness. You have no idea where these sentiments are coming from, so don't presume to believe that it's anything you yourself are privy to and therefore are capable of judging my reaction to. But it's absolutely laughable that you're making these accusations of me when you did the SAME THING in your first post on the matter.
That scene at the end, when she yells at her mother, I was like..."Whoa. Okay."
And Baby June. Jesus, that girl was dancing en pointe! She's like, 6! (Okay, well, 11, but still.)

backing up a bit to the role switching Q&A from the Drama Desk nominees - I forgot how funny that clip is. I love when Linda Balgord's like "I would love to do Love Musik...I love the music"
Seeing Gypsy on closing night, and then Rent the day after. I'm excited!
The editing in that video is genius.

I know, it really is. I can't watch it enough. I'm not sure Chenoweth is a real person, to tell you the truth
"In any show?"
"Is there an actual character that IS the Coram Boy?"
Michael's comment is the best. And I love Raul drawing in the background. His hair is like, fluffy, lol
O/T but Barbara Walsh was at Grey Gardens tonight
sorry continue

Barbara!!! I was just watching her on this clip of the drama desk nominee's memorable moments, and I was like "I miss her in Company.."
I really want to see that show before it closes, argg. I wish I'd gone tonight
"I would love to do Love Musik...I love the music"
Haha. Love that part.
That video is the greatest.
I actually think Christian Borle is my favorite part of that video - he cracks me up!
Quickly back to Spring Awakening - I didn't get it, and I'm not really sure how I missed what everyone else thinks is so fabulous about it, but somehow I did. I sat on-stage during previews and there were actually times that I found myself giggling at things that weren't supposed to be funny, just because I found them bizarre and lame. Now, that being said, considering I saw it very early, it's been quite some time and I do want to revisit it (although I'm not really in the business of camping out for student tickets anymore - the 3-4 hours I waited for Company student rush the last few weeks was briefly fun because it temporarily made me feel like a tween again, but that even got to be a bit much).
Laura Benanti - never liked her, but LOVE her as Louise.
And Raul...I don't think anyone thinks Raul is perfect, or "100% sunshine and happiness" - on or off-stage. But doesn't that contribute so much to WHY we love him? I know it does for me. Perfection, overabundant friendliness - blahhh. I appreciate people with an edge, and, not that I've experienced it first hand, but it certainly seems like he has one. Some people don't like that, and that's okay. Some of us gravitate towards people like that, and that's okay too.

Hmm. The funny thing about this whole thing is that I know how much orangeskittles loves Raul, and that the negativity is mainly backlash towards the pedestal-placement.
Speaking of the Arcadia picture, I was just saying the other day to Em how that one Broadway Barks picture totally reminded me of it (the one that's dancinthrulife's avatar). Expression, or something.
Heh, it's very... pensive.
Pensive - perfect word choice, Em! I saw Arcadia at Lincoln Center years ago and didn't get it and it had super people like Billy Crudup and Victor Garber in the cast. Would like to have seen Raul in it. Someone told me that that was Tom Stoppard (or Stop-PARD)'s chaos theory play. Well, that explains it.

Chaos theory freaks me out.

Chaos theory....someone wrote an article on that in relation to Ulysses. that was... a fun read
The woman who sits next to me at work is blasting "Hair" on the oldies station. For some reason, it just doesn't have the same effect as the Actor's Fund version...
I can't remember which version it is, but I think it's the original off-Broadway recording where the chorus spends a good long while just chanting "hair! hair! hair! hair!!" over and over again. It's funny.
Perhaps they were trying to capture that spaced-out, time-is-meaningless effect you get when pharmaceuticals are involved?
I'm going to be totally silly here and say that my favorite part (of the Actor's Fund version) is where Raúl is bouncing around on his toes. There's something so...giddy about that exuberance, you can't stop grinning.
Oh Geez... How did I know that something like that would be posted as soon as I mentioned Hair? I really didn't mean for that to happen...
But I love it.
Hypnotic, really.
Well, at least its not the --
No, I'm not going to say it because then somebody WILL post it!
I think you may have said too much. I mean, I can't do it, because I don't have the file saved, but...
Oh, lord, me and my big mouth!!
That'll learn ya humbug!
*waits patiently for the moving picture in question to appear*
