Okay, here's the picture. Sorry about the quality of the image... it isn't great because it's a photo of the magazine page. My scanner seems to have suffered an untimely death. Other than some slight washing out, the lighting photographed pretty accurately -- it looks like it was taken in daylight up on one of those staircases above of the side alleys at the Barrymore (like the one that leads to the stage door). The coloring on his suit is a little off. It looks kind of blue, but it's actually black with pinstripes. The shirt is indeed pink. You may not be able to see this if the image posts too small, but he's sitting in a chair from inside the theater.
There's a short article, too. It basically says that... (as I translate AND paraphrase!) sometimes things seem as though they're created custom-made, and that this is the case with Raúl and his portrayal of Robert in the new Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Company. They quote him as saying something about how his life... the literal translation of the term is "empathized," but I guess it means to say that the role and his life kind of coincide on paper. It says that despite the inevitable correlation (and alludes to emotional insecurities), one of these men has something the other lacks: companionship -- Raúl isn't alone. There's a brief summary of the Times article: it took (and sparked) an interest in his sexual identity, he's separated from his wife and in a relationship with someone of the same sex, etc. He talks about the way that interest in actors' personal lives is tied to the idea of fame in the United States, but says he hopes his talent -- as opposed to that interest (it's not a direct quote, but the article actually uses the term "obsesión") -- is the reason theater fans come to see him. It talks about his education (NYU) and his Drama Desk (one at the time), as well as the fact that he's from Miami, and quotes a teacher (I believe from high school), who said that he has the capacity to become another Marlon Brando. That's pretty much it.
I think the thread tried to eat my (very exciting) post.
Thanks for posting that. I have a copy on the way. You can get it from Amazon under the magazine single/back issues. Did you have to take a few shots and splice them together? Is it just me or does his foot look huge? May just be the depth perception of taking a picture of a picture. Anyway, thanks for posting.
No, I just took a handful and chose the one that came out best. And yeah, it's a funny angle. It makes him look like he has elephant feet. I mean, his feet are big... but in this case, it's the picture.
LOL! Elepahnt feet. And I'm watching Rent now....Adam's hair(What You Own - sorry wrong board)- HA! I'm in a good mood now.
Well, better the feet than the nose.
Thanks so much Em. Now I have a strange compulsion to track down the magazine, too
It's March 2007, for those interested in tracking one down.

Well you know what "they" apparently say about big feet and noses.
I think that's a great picture of him - I like the colors he's wearing. It looks like what he wore to the Easter Bonnet thing. And I love his little tummy
Okay, I'm buying a backorder of this. I'm still upset that I dont have a hard copy of that issue of Elle

Hot. If anyone finds a copy, don't hesitate to send it my way so I can get a quality scan.
Too lazy to check Ebay before I posted this. I'm trying to think if I actually should get it.

lol. I know what they say about big feet, but tell us, what do they say about big noses?
I have a hard copy of Elle, but I never got one of Vogue. I was anal about getting hard copies of most of the Company press, but somehow that one slipped through the cracks.

I got Vogue and Elle, but of course cut them out of the magazine to scan. I felt amazingly obsessive.

Some people say that men with big noses have the same...natural assets as do those with large feet. I'm far from qualified to conclude anything based on empirical study, though. I think it's cute that he always talks about his nose though - I like the self conscious Raul!
I love that spread they did in Vogue, I wish I had a copy of that. Although thank God for the internet and what it's done for preservation! If only all my Titanic press clippings were archived as well
Supposedly thumbs are a good indicator, too.

She looks pissed in this picture
Heh, the thumb/pointer theory.
Whoa to Daphne's boobs.

She looks like a busty muppet in that picture.
I bet those two would host an extremely entertaining variety show.

I just laughed so hard that my cat actually got startled.
Seriously, squeeze her a little harder, Raul...
Heh, the thumb/pointer theory.
Ahhh, classic Friends moment.
What were the dates for those Vogue and Elle issues?
Elle: September 2006
Vogue: November 2006
that might be why she looks pissed. she can't breathe lol

What were the dates for those Vogue and Elle issues?
Already correctly answered, but thought I'd mention. The Elle has Lindsay Lohan on the cover, and the Vogue has Cate Blanchett. If you want to find one on Ebay or somewhere that may help you get more results.
Thanks for the info.
