Maybe Raúl is the only "name" in the cast and the rest are students or something like that. I'll admit I'm a bit puzzled - it's only a "reading" and yet there's still a director? And Roger Rees at that? I'm not totally sure what there is =to= direct. I wonder how much rehearsal time they've allowed for...
Oh, for anyone going to Williamstown, if you're looking for something to say to Raúl, you might ask him about the Company DVD - if he knows of any extras, like backstage footage, or if he or anyone else has recorded any audio commentary, that sort of thing. Just a thought.
Keen - hell of a good time or hell of a bad time??
Given the way I feel about Pinter, it may be the same thing?! These characters are fascinating but also perverse and manipulative. Tremendous challenge for an actor to be effectively disliked.
And Raúl does loves a challenge, especially the scary ones. It's going to be fascinating to see him onstage with McShane, who's forgotten more about scenery chewing than most actors ever know.
It will be a wonderful experience for the rest of the cast of OUR TOWN if they are interns or aspiring actors to read with Raul and to receive some direction from Rees. I assume that, even with a reading, someone has to decide how the play as a whole is going to be presented, where the dramatic choices are made. Otherwise it would be like everyone driving around with blindfolds on! Rees is in a play at Williamstown at the moment so he may have volunteered to help with the reading, too.

If there are students in the reading, they are some lucky students. What a great gig.
I'm wondering what the stagedoor situation at Williamstown will be - not that a stage door for something like this actually exists, but if he will be approachable after the show at all. I really want him to sign my copy of Our Town, like the dork that I am. And if he seems chatty, I will ask him about the DVD, humbug That is, if my shyness doesn't take over
I'm thinking it will be tremendously relaxed - after all no makeup to remove or costumes to change, and the readers may want input from the audience. It may even turn out to be a kind of talk back. For the sake of everyone attending, especially BWWers - I sure hope so.

oh keen - now you're getting my hopes up!
I think I'll blurt out something random, per usual. For old times' sake.
but random with a point or random like "Raul, do you get pedicures?"
Psh, my randomness ALWAYS has a point.
I'll probably be more like, "HEY RAUL! *clams up*" Because really, some things never change.
then Raul will spot you and slowly nod his head in the direction of the security officer. :)
Now, tink! Some people like handcuffs.
hahaha, true, but for some reason Em doesn't strike me as that kinda girl! But then again, it's always the quiet shy ones that have the secret wild side! :)
Shut up.
I mean, hey now, I got a voluntary.
hahahha, that is true!
TWICE.
you must be racking up those points!!!
I know, I totally win.
/end Spring Awakening mockery mode.
Em - I didn't say who the handcuffs might be for. Are you not the queen of voluntaries?
Oh? Who then?
Forgive me, I'm silly today. I just spent FIFTEEN hours in the car with my family. I feel like I've been deprived of normal human contact.
everyone needs some silliness every once in a while.
Hm, I think Raul might just be flattered anyway.

handcuffs? voluntaries? what thread is this anyway
Maybe Raul will pull a Kristin and be like "I just feel like I have to hug ALL of you!" ha, yeah right...
Awww, that was so cute. I love her.
