Yes, Cabaret on Broadway. Heather was (Texas...I think) and she was the best Sally understudy ever! I'm not sure if Leenya was still in the cast when Raul joined, as she was the original Texas.

Mmmm. Raul in Cabaret is like Michael in Sweeney. It's just so incredibly delicious.

My absolute favorite moment EVER of Raul was watching him this past year at Broadway on Broadway snap his fingers and do a step-touch with his feet while the cast of Rent sang "Seasons of Love". Priceless.

My absolute favorite onstage moment was him walking around bare-footed and eating ice cream in a scene during The Normal Heart. Also priceless.

Funny moment... Defying Gravity.

Surprising moment.... Me Ole Bamboo. He's such a great dancer.

Sexy moment... Hair.

Dramatic brilliance... The Normal Heart in its entirety. I could never pick just one part.

My favorite off-stage moment with him was.... probably at Symphony Space, because it was so chill.

Ooo, I'm going with Emcee's categories.

Funny: When he and Philip Bosco just lost it during Chitty's final show and giggled through the rest of the scene so hard that you could barely understand them.

Surprising: Defying Gravity

Sexy: Already said it, but when he blew smoke in Cliff's ear in Cabaret

Dramatic: Since I still haven't seen The Normal Heart (my birthday's coming up in March re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, part two) probably the end of Cabaret.

Damn it! My computer is stupid, so I can't watch that trailer! But he looks so scary. :-O

My favorite Raul moment...hmmmm. I've only seen him *live* in Chitty, so I can't really fill all the catagories, but I definitely love his butt wiggle, and watching him grab himself in that video of Hair is pretty hot. re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, part two

Funny: I completely love him during Willkommen in Cabaret... he just seems to have perfect timing. Funny AND sexy.

Surprising: Well, I about died watching just those clips of him doing "Hair" in the Broadway.com video.

Sexy: I guess this is more adorable/sexy, but I absolutely love the part during Green Green Dress in TTB where Amy is sitting on his lap and he pretends to drop her, and then flashes this incredibly genuine/adoring/playful smile. It's quite possibly the cutest thing ever.

Dramatic: Skittles, you TOTALLY took mine. Not having seen The Normal Heart, defintiely the end of Cabaret. I actually cried.

It's kind of hard to pick out specific things, but fun to try. It was cool to read everyone else's.

Stealing this too. Because it's true. That was so awesome. I was thinking about Sondheim shows earlier and it reminded me of us talking about how our parents weren't really Sondheim fans, so we had to discover it for ourselves. It was just so...normal. I'm still shocked by that.

re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, part two

Okay, first of all, this is really hard because I haven't seen him live yet, but here are my picks-

Funny: Sugar in tick, tick...BOOM! Him scarfing down pretend twinkies like a chipmunk is priceless.

Surprising: Cabaret- I honestly couldn't find him in there at all. Before I saw this I had only seen the John Stamos clip and I just did not get the emcee, but Raul made the movements natural and sexy, and it just worked.

Sexy: Hair- the grabbage, the hip action, "see Raul dance", Spaghettied- just so sexy.

Dramatic: This is tough, because from what I hear, the "correct" answer is The Normal Heart, and I haven't seen it yet, so from my experience I'd say Taboo. I know it's not as serious as The Normal Heart, but when he sings Petrified... I just am so completely entranced and put in the moment.

I had to rewind that trailer several time cause I just couldn't believe my eyes... FMG is 100% going on my must see list. I'll just have to do something else during the scenes Raúl's not in.

And reading all your Raúl Faves makes me want to go out on the street corner and beg for some *cough*copies*cough* of his work... Joining the Raúl bnadwagon late, it looks as though I missed a lot of his awesome stuff.

Ah well... all in due time I imagine!

I think it comes out 3/17, which is the day I'm seeing Company. Maybe I'll see the movie that afternoon. It'll give me something else to talk to him about!

I still can't believe that's him.
