Tomorrow; the 29th.
Thanks Ariella.
And... just... oh God. A friend called me at the last minute and asked me if I wanted to go tonight and... in a moment of rash judgement, I of course said yes. Oh God. I... I can't even talk about it. (Emcee history.) I'm emotionally wiped out.

Posted: 11/29/06 at 1:35amWell, the Times tends to be after midnight, which is the one she mentioned. :-P

Okay, normally try not to post twice in a row, but I'm not sure if you guys had seen/heard this, so I thought it was worth it.

That interview was just awkward. I don't think I un-cringed the entire time.
The way he said Sondheim-ites sounds unnervingly similar to another word that should NOT come up in conversations regarding Raúl this week. Good lord, I almost had a heart attack before I realized what the guy was actually saying.

It's actually Part 2, Shiksa.
That was a good interview. Nothing cringeworthy, really. Though I wondered why the interviewer used the term "sodomites" in that context. At least Raul laughed. He's got a cute laugh.

"I do, but that's part of the whole story for us. John saw what he said was a really wonderful production at the Donmar, that he thought was really powerful. He said it really moved him, and he knew the show could be powerful."
I knew it. The Donmar production is the only one I've seen that carries near the emotional weight that Doyle's does, so that makes sense.
Anyway, cool interview, aside from that they got the theater name wrong.

Skittles, you and your dirty, dirty mind.
He interviews really well, even in awkward situations. He can kind of deflect anything... liiike being asked what it's like to be a straight performer in a lot of gay/bi/ambiguous roles. Ouch.
Gonna listen to this one soon.

This interviewer is the king of awkward. Wow.
Raúl does have an adorable laugh, though.

Posted: 11/29/06 at 11:15amWow. Heh. Is that even legit? I mean, it looks like a blog, and there is SO much noise in the background. I wonder how he agreed to do that, exactly.

Ugh, I can not sit still. I couldn't fall asleep last night because I was thinking about Raul. I'm like, tingling.
skittles- I couldn't figure out what you were referring to, then I got it and gave a *highly* audible gasp.
Wishes come true, not free.

You need to brush up on your dirty thoughts!
Honestly, it REALLY did sound like he said "sodomites." I barely even HEARD the "Sondheim" part. That is just cruel.
I still feel like I've been hit by a train.

Sorry, you're right, part 2
.
I crindged at the mention of his 'wife', but my friend said this interview took place before the NYTimes article came out, so the interviewer probably wouldn't have known.
I do love his giggle.

Posted: 11/29/06 at 1:50pmIt's dated 11.11.06. He didn't know, but hearing it now you'ee just like "nice job." Not like he could've been all "hey, how's your boyfriend?!"
