I have no music theory whatsoever, so I don't have a good way to explain it, but there's this one part in Johnny Can't Decide where the harmonies split a certain way, and it's just heaven.
I love kittens and bunnies as much as the next girl, but my thoughts about the unmodified picture in question are decidedly less....sweet and innocent.
that Brilliant Mistake performance was mind-blowing, and completely unforgettable.
A clip from that was the first time I was exposed to Raul, performance wise. It certainly was unforgettable. Mostly because he looked like a homicidal maniac, and I was afraid he'd developed a method of murder by vibrato. No one could ever accuse him of not being evocative.
Considering I just read that as "murder by vibrator", I think it's a sign I really need to go to bed.
Raul in that Chess picture is so... Uncle Fester, except with hair. It really does. Especially with that facial expression. All he needs is a lightbulb in his mouth.

Wanting life but never
knowing how
Just watched the Charlie Rose August 6, 2001 DVD that includes the TTB interview. Very appealing clips of LOUDER THAN WORDS and THERAPY plus Raul looking great. Quite clear that Amy Spaner and Jerry Dixon were pretty amazing, too.
