I apologize for this but ...
So? You've barely reached your teens, and sorry, but that doesn't mean you know anything about the real world, or how important money is. If you did you wouldn't be on about "money comes and goes". Money is life, you really can't exist without it once you're on your own. And if I was your age my parents wouldn't let me spend $1000 on a show ticket. And there's a big difference between managing money and blowing $1000 on a show ticket, even if it is only for one night.

Thanks! I cannot concentrate on anything. I've been listening to Rocky, tick, tick...BOOM!, Taboo, and, uh, 'other' stuff non-stop in anticipation.
Em, I meant about the eating thing.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 9:54pmOh. SG -- She'll be mad that we flew out to see something that we could well have seen in New York, even though obviously we wouldn't have known at the time. And of course she'll go right back to harping on the fact that we made the trip and he wasn't gracious enough for her.

My mom will be upset too. If this was going on at any other point in my life, I wouldn't be able to go. I'm seeing it on Thursday.

The question of a Broadway transfer was asked during Meet The Artists. The cast members all knocked on the wooden stage and said it's up in the air at this point. Here's hoping!
I think I could see Raul sticking with this role for a while if he has the chance. In the lobby on Saturday night he was talking to two ladies and he said that Bobby is the most like him than any other role he's every played.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 9:56pmI'm not even going to say anything. You don't *know* me, so you can't judge me and tell me how much I know about the world and money. I "barely" reached my teens? You don't know how old I am.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 9:56pmOkay, I get it. You know what? I never realised how lucky I am to have a mom who is impressionable in every way- If I tell her Raul is good she takes my word for it until she see's otherwise. Like, I told her that Julia was an amazing Elphaba and she has ordered tickets to see her in Cleveland for my B-Day in July. She's never even heard of her, lol. I was mentioning to my mom that I really want Company to go to Broadway and she was like "Yes! And then there would be a cast recording for me to hear!"

hah, g. Ya think?
Do we think we'll hear by the time they close, or will it be up in the air still after that?

I hope so! I was so sad to leave because I don't know when I'm going to see him on stage again. I would LOVE for this to move to Broadway, it's too brilliant to stop after a month. More people should get the opportunity to see this!

My dad doesn't like how often I go to the theater. He gets angry when I try to tell him about these people. I've just about given up.
I really hope that this transfers.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 10:01pmHe's always working, though. I can't imagine it'll be that long before he's got something else lined up, but yeah, I know I definitely also hate having no idea where they'll be next.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 10:02pmYeah..it's hard sometimes. We both pretty much hate eachother. I fixed it Katt..I'd definitely go see Company if it came to broadway. I really want to see Raúl.

It's so interesting that he thinks that Bobby is the role's closest to his personality. I can totally see that... when I heard about this casting, I couldn't think of anyone more perfect to play Bobby.
Okay, I kind of freaked out a little about the theatremania and NYT reviews. What *fantastic* press. Reviewers seriously swoon over him. His webmasters are going to have to bump the local Cincy reviews back a little in favor of these!
Edit: It also sounds like this could be considered a Tony-worthy performance, no?

My dad is only interested in musicals by ALW- which honestly, I love the guy (ALW), but there is more to the theater than pretty sets and constumes with big orchestras. It's gotta have heart... *bursts into Damn Yankees due to reference*

I'll refer to my playbill...
Matt Castle (Peter), Robert Cunningham (Paul), Kelly Jeanne Grant (Kathy), Kristin Huffman (Sarah), Amy Justman (Susan), Fred Rose (David), Bruce Sabath (Larry), and Barbara Walsh (Joanne).
Another question that was asked is if the actors already knew how to play instruments or if they learned for the show. They all took turns answering seriously and then Barbara Walsh cracked us all up by saying that she worked many years to learn the triangle.

I have to agree about this being a perfect role for him. I was so excited when I found out.
Same here about my dad and ALW.

They seem to be having SO much fun! They also said that Stephen Sondheim took them all out of drinks in Cincy. :)
I really adore Matt Castle. I bumped into him in the lobby and we chatted for a while about the show. He was so excited that I traveled from NYC to see it. He saw me again the next day and wished me a safe flight home.
Another thing they pointed out at the talkback was that Company has one-upped Sweeney Todd because there isn't a single sheet of music on the stage. They know it all by heart. That's talent.
A question I meant to ask Matt but forgot was about understudies. Do they have them?

Thanks g! The triangle was my favorite part of Side by Side by Side.
Matt Castle was really nice and funny, we talked to him for a bit after the show. He joked that now he feels like he can go backstage at Sweeney to meet the cast, because they're like cousins now.
Ash, it really is. Although, does it make me a completely horrible person for not wanting this to transfer next season, just because it would be competing with ACL for best revival?
