This is post 2001 on this thread.
Thank you, Sarah.
I've just been reflecting on how much I really adore Raul tonight, but it didn't seem quite enough to warrant bumping the thread. I listened to his Downstage Center interview again today. I am continually amazed at how completely he throws himself into everything he does, and it totally comes through in his performances. I'm glad that Company is trasnferring to New York because more people should see him as Bobby... he is just everything that that character should be, and then some. And I'm so happy to have gotten to meet him, if only for a minute, to let him know how much I enjoyed getting to see him play that part.

SS I could have written that myself, lol. The Downstage interview was what first made me really fall in love with him. His devotion and the way he approaches each part with such intensity and care is so admirable.
His voice is one of the only things that's been able to calm me down lately. I had See Her Smile on yesterday, and it just chilled me out completely.
I know what you mean, Em. 30/90 is literally the only song I can think of that's ever been able to cheer me up without fail.

When I was going through a really rough time I listend to TTB for 3 months straight. That's why I had him sign that, and not Taboo or the Company playbill, or Rocky.
I'm glad that I had him sign the Company playbill. It'll be a nice way to remember the trip, and it's one of my favorite musicals.
Edit: Not that TTB isn't as well, because it definitely is.

I began by having him sign stuff that was really meaningful to me, but then I just started whipping out anything I could find, because asking for an autograph is like.... my default icebreaker. It hasn't been lately so much with him, which is why I didn't get an autograph at Company -- aside from the fact that we were just sort of thrown into conversation with him because everything was so loud and chaotic.
The first thing I asked him to sign was the Playbill at The Normal Heart, and then the B'way Under the Stars pamphlet because it was all I had on me and I needed something, but after that, the ttB poster.
I'll probably get ttB signed when I meet him. It means a lot to me.

I'm trying to decide what to have signed when I see him in Company when it's on Broadway... Either the playbill which will mean a lot to me because I love Sondheim, and Raul singing Sondheim, and seeing Company in Cinci was probably the best theatre experience of my life.
I have TTB and Sunday in the Park with George windowcards that I'd love to get signed, but I doubt that's very likely.
I wanted to take Sunday.... to Cincy, but the poster didn't fit in my suitcase.

I love Raul singing Sunday... he is just so amazing singing Sondheim.
I agree, although sometimes I doubt that just hearing the songs does him justice.
What is your signature from, Em?
It's from a song Tom Kitt (composer of Feeling Electric) wrote for Julia's CD. It's called "Perfect."

I want him to sign my Company libretto. And the Playbill.
I actually didn't get him to sign one thing when I was in Cincy. The first night we were just too into conversation and I forgot. And then the second night there just wasn't a right moment.
Ah well, there's still time... when it comes to Broadway. :)
Company is coming to Broadway!!!
I know I'm late on the news, but I've been away so this is my first computer access in a few weeks. I'm so delighted!
Here's praying that he's able to stay with it.

Okay, this is very VERY random, and I fear that posting it may result in a loss of whatever dignity I have, but oh well! I created this, which I have titled "Let's Hop" because, well, we all know Raul looks like a kitten (I've seen it said here a few times), and I believe that Adam looks like a bunny (see, I have this stuffed bunny and I swear it looks like him, and yeah, I'll shut up now and show you the picture). Forgive me, for I was bored...
