Well, straight people tolerate all of the other actors' homosexuality, so it's only fair. 
The pit story still just makes me feel so sorry for him. That's like something that would happen to the really geeky kid in a sitcom, or something.

It's ironic that I read that story a few weeks after it happened, and thought it was the funniest thing ever. Who knew I'd be such a huge fan of that dude a couple of years later?

At the curtain call, the crowd applauded tepidly for Pontius Pilate, Herod and Mary Magdalene, but when Judas appeared on the stage they jumped to their feet. Sympathy for the actor seemed stronger than empathy for the character he played, which was not necessarily a good thing for the show. You crucify a man onstage and it seems ho-hum, but the understudy falls into the orchestra pit and everyone feels his pain.
Awww, poor Mano. It's such a cool story, though.

Near the end of the song, he made a particularly emotive rush toward the front of the stage and disappeared.
I love that wording. Even if the event itself is not funny.
