It's late and I can't sleep (despite trying to), but I just wanted to say that I'm really happy for all of you. I'm sure you know that by now, but it's great that he turned out to be so nice and you all managed to get a few words out. :P

My roommate f*cked my sleep schedule along with hers last night. I slept in to make up for it, so now I'm like... all off.

ETA -- I love that it's a STORY about Adam smoking and not "oh, I saw him smoking, the end." hahaha.

Hah! Well, it's some long, drawn-out locked post about how someone compared the poster to Adam and said that she (yes, she) looked like him smoking after Aida. The post was rambly, but the part about him smoking was cute.

Still, I don't get how they -- Mano especially, 'cause his voice is so much more... traditional? -- still sound so good. I mean, the Adam/Raul unit can use the raspy thing to their advantage.

Yeah, me too. 
I suppose the answer to your question is that cigarettes have such different effects on different people. Maybe they don't take too much of a toll on Mano's voice for whatever reason. Also, perhaps he only smokes a couple cigarettes per day.
And I still love how you refer to them as a "unit." 
I don't know about Raul because I don't really have recordings of him spanning a long length of time, but while I think Adam sounds raspier but still good now, I don't want to think of what he'll sound like 15 years from now.

I'm pretty sure Mano doesn't smoke.And yes, I also think it's sexy. But I'm a smoker, too, so I'm biased.

I'm so, so, so allergic to smoke. But... they still just look so GOOD.
They are. They're totally my hot-men-cheating-on-New York City unit. I've decided to make them a unit because I can't choose a favorite.

Again, I'm not sure. He's really strict about taking care of his voice. And he DID tell me to stop smoking. All of which lead me to believe he doesn't smoke. At the very least, he doesn't do it on a regular basis.

I think it's sexy from a distance. I cough like hell if I'm around cigarette smoke and get a headache if I'm exposed to it for too long. Bowling alleys are the worst for me. (Nothing against you, BroadwayChica.)
And yeah, it makes a lot more sense if Mano was telling you to quit if he had quit himself.

... I still don't really believe that Adam's still smoking. I've never smelled it on him at ALL, and I'm really sensitive to it. But whatever.

Heh, Fantab, we basically just said the same thing. I agree 100%, and I would hope that Adam steps outside. It's not my business, but my uncle still has severe asthma at least partially due to my grandfather's heavy smoking.

My uncle, who I've nicknamed chimney, came to visit tonight to ask my dad a question... I had to leave the room he was in because of the smell of smoke. Ewwww...
I can stand smoke when it's outside and I'm not all closed in, but sometimes it gets to me. I have asthma or I'd probably be a smoker. Most of my extended family smokes.
