#1427The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:29amI'm thinking I might swing by Joe's Pub tomorrow on the way home from class to see if they have the tickets on sale there.
#1428The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:31amHas anyone called Joe's Pub to ask? Would be easier than actually going there.
#1429The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:32amEm called Joe's Pub and they redirected her somewhere else.
#1430The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:34amOh, ok. I love how we're all on pins and needles, as if the show were going to sell out in one day. lol.

Awesome story you guys.
Emcee you did better than I ever would have have. I would either have lost feeling in my legs or fallen or said something completely out there like "Mano- I-wanna -have-your- got-violen-playing- singing- french/german/spainish- speaking babies!!"
#1432The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:35amWell, I called Joe's Pub and got an annoying recording that I didn't want to listen to all the way through. Then I called the other number Telecharge gave me and it was the main number to the Public. They gave me the "box office" number, which was the box office for the Public. They transferred me to Joe's Pub, but it was an answering machine. I didn't feel like leaving a message, so I just kind of figured that was the point of defeat.
#1433The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:37amHeh, it would actually be easier for me to go there than to call.

LOL, Eponine.
Honestly, I get so nervous about this stuff, sometimes almost to the point of making myself feel sick. Like an hour before we left, I IMed Fantab and was like "my hands are shaking..." I can talk myself out of being nervous, but it doesn't make me any better at talking!
#1435The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:40amI'm going to need backup when I meet him.
#1436The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:41amI believe very firmly in strength in numbers!

He's so easygoing and approachable...that is, if you can catch him! And he definitely made an effort to keep the convo going.
YAY.

He's really nice, don't be intimidated by him! All of the Sweeney Todd cast are incredibly sweet and gracious.

hee. It helps if you're not like, stunned.
He's so approachable, though. I don't really know how to describe it, but some people really just feel... well, scary.
And CUDDLY.
ETA -- I think I get more nervous about people I'd actually like to sit around and talk to, rather than someone I'd have a better chance of just getting a trophy autograph from. I'm not really afraid of THEM per se, but afraid of my tendency to do stupid stuff.
#1441The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:46amHe's also very animated when he talks - one of those people where you don't feel like you're wasting their time. He was constantly moving and nodding his head and just showing remote interest.

Yeah, he's not like... pretend nice. Even some of the nicest actors I've ever met are just not quite... all there when they talk to you. Eyes wander and things. *pokes Raul*
He just seemed like he didn't totally hate being there. Which is cool.
#1443The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:49amHe's very smart and passionate about his craft. Gotta love that. As a friend of mine says, his looks are the least of his attributes. Updated On: 3/12/06 at 12:49 AM

I want to meet him, or at least see him perform in person.
What should his next role be? I think if they ever put Moulin Rouge on stage, he would be an ideal Christian.
Whatever his next role, he needs a shirtless scene.

Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:49amI'm glad to hear that he's so nice. Do you think that I could get tickets at TKTS on Sunday?
#1446The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:52am
heh. I'll have more to say about the show itself once I actually see it again.
Hopefully within the next couple of weeks. *curses class schedule*
I think it's on TKTS fairly often.
I want to hug him.
#1447The Land of Mano, where the violins roam freely
Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:52amSo I was reading his cast bio during intermission today, and he listed playing Valmont in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, which struck me as interesting because we had just been speculating about Raul Esparza in that role the other day. I'd think that either of them would make a great Valmont. I picture them in somewhat similar parts, I guess.

He's probably staying in Sweeney for awhile.
