Art2 has convienced them to show man on man action in the Producers trailer since Leo and Uma clearly have something going on. Hey, it's only fair, I guess.

owing to the fact that it is a musical movie, I think that they simply wanted to make a bigger turnout besides theatre folk. They want more than all of us to see it. It's all marketing.

The RENT trailer is a metaphor for the back-of-the-bus mentality of the libido liberals. To the libido liberals, even simple displays of gay male affection (like a kiss) must be consigned to the shadows. I, for one, will not tolerate this in general and I will most certainly not tolerate it in the promotion for this movie.

and the award for the "gay man with his head stuck in the sand" goes to...

Justice, it's great the you have such a fabulous life. I'm pretty content myself. I've got a carreer which I've had for twenty years come October, a home in Puerto Rico, a great apartment in Brooklyn, friends and family who love me. And you are right. I haven't had electroshock in years and I can't recall when my neighborhood bar was last raided.Still , I can't help but think of a man whose partner died after 30 years together and he was thrown out into the street by the sister of his deceased partner. The sister who had not spoken to her brother in 20 years because she didn't approve of his life STYLE CHOICES! The same sister who once her brother had passed, kicked out his partner, of 30 years(did I mention that? 30 years.) and sold the house that they called home.

Ok maybe he's not oppressed but how about the woman who's wife (yes they were married in a church in front of family and friends) was killed and the board in charge of the dead woman's pension fund decided the pension belonged to her parents and not her wife and partner of 12 years.

Or you. Who one day hopes to meet the love of your life and perhaps he'll get cancer and go into a coma and all of a sudden you'll realize that you are at the mercy of strangers to allow you to take care of this man with whom you've made a life. That anyone can decide to kick you out of the hospital. That you have no say in his care. That a relative who hasn't even met you might have more weight with the doctors than you.


Any of this feeling a little oppressive? Do you need to step out and get some air?

Have fun and enjoy your care free life but just remember right now it's being given to us. It's not ours yet. We do not as of today own this freedom.

Well if you have been through something like that , how could you say that we are not oppressed?
