okay - all caught up 
1 - for the last time.....THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "THREAD JACKING" ON THIS THREAD!!!!!
It was (and still is) intended to be an open forum and I believe we have more than accomplished that goal since we got moved... 
2 - You guys impress me very much with your open minded and extremely balanced outlook on dating and relationships... I have more to say on that subject - but I need a minute.
3 - last but certainly not least... I AM VERY FRIGHTENED BY ALL OF THESE VOCAL ISSUES I'M SEEING!!!! 
I pm'd one of you (i think it was camerangel) with some tips -I urge you to share them....
You only get ONE VOICE in life.... don't wreck it!!!

I had a busy weekend...
things are going well for me work-wise - but the logistics are difficult right now
meaning.... I NEED A NEW CAR!!!!!
and unfortunately --- I NEED A NEW COMPUTER!!!!
2 major purchases at once....*ugh* welcome to adulthood

DON'T TALK AT ALL UNTIL YOU HAVE TO
go to your local walgreens or whatever and pick up one of those personal steamers if you can..
DO NOT USE THE MENTHOL STUFF - it dries you out.
lubricate the chords with as much steam and warm liquid as you can
you should have sound in a day or two...
but seriously - NOT A WORD - DON'T WHISPER AT ALL!!!! Whispering BAAAAAAADDDDD
stay away from carbons and caffeine

Got it. Thanks. So far I'm not doing very well with following those.
New car AND a new computer? Yuck.
Well, I'm gonna get off now, not feeling so great and my mom's on her way home anyway. I probably won't be back until Friday or so.

I'm glad to hear that camerangel...
all of you out there - do take care of those voices...
it means sacrafices -
watching what you eat
getting plenty of rest
serious (but safe) training of the muscles
getting vocal rest (no screaming at loud karaokes - or piano bars or other smoky loud places.... )
no partying while you are doing shows (especially during the rehersal period when you have to sing it over and over and over......)
if you want to do it for the "long run" start your discipline now. You'll be way ahead of the curve and have the kind of powerful instrument that will constantly get you hired - because people know that you won't "give out" on them half-way into the run...

You are definately right though.. I can't remember the last time I lost my voice or had vocal issues.. Now that I think about it, it had to have been in high school.. This last week and a half not having a voice has been torture, I couldn't imagine ruining it for life..

nothing wrong with our car
we need ANOTHER one!!!
he works at one end (with no trains available)
and I work at the other (with a 4 hour commute going and 7 hrs coming back... it's insane... I don't sleep)

Makes sense.. That has to be hard having only one car. What kind are you in the market for? I love my Saturn VUE.
