This season if the VAs don't agree to a pay cut and next season if they do.

Hopefully when it does happen, they'll do a few more movies at least.
I don't know that I want to say goodbye to Homer forever!

Posted: 10/6/11 at 5:54pmSo, its not because of ratings. Its because of greed. The show can make more if it is canceled that if it is in production.I think Seth Macfarlane should be nervous. Could this be a trend for TV shows that have been on for more than five seasons or more and doing well in the ratings? This really sucks for all the wrong reasons. I wonder if another network could pick it up.

I wondered why Fox would kill this gold-egg-laying goose over what amounts to $24 Million a year (a drop in the bucket compared to the BILLIONS this show makes them) but Lloyd Grove explained this morning: Syndication contracts were draw up 20 years ago and contained a provision that Simpsons would not air on any other Network while it was still airing on Fox-- which means that your local Fox affiliate gets a great deal to show reruns but they can't sell it to TBS, Comedy Central, E....
Fox will cancel the show, blame the greedy actors and make BILLIONS more selling the over 500 episodes all over the place.

No, no more movies! The one they did stunk. Their writers don't know how to write for an expanded format.

Harry Shearer — who provides the voice for Mr. Burns, Smithers, Ned Flanders, Kent Brockman, and other characters — says that unless a better deal is offered to them, there may not even be a 24th season.

Posted: 10/7/11 at 1:46pmI saw Karl Weidergott and Tress MacNeill cover Harry Shearer and Julie Kavner's parts flawlessly when I attended The Simpsons Live in Montreal several years back. It's really not out of the realm of possibilities to recast, except for any bad will that might engender.
