Em, if you can figure it out, be my guest! I'd love to know. a lifetime of Banality

There're a lot of Argentinian and Mexican Jews, as well. What were you searching for that gave you that sentence?

Oh, I have NO idea. But there are ways to figure it out... I guess. What dreams mean is really interesting, if the interpretations are actually right.

I have a speaking test about religion in Latin America, so I'm looking stuff up.

Yeah, Latino Jews are more common than you'd think. A pretty big number of Cuban exiles are Jewish, and there's a significant Jewish population in Mexico.

Maybe THAT explains the phenomenon of Cuban Chinese food.

I'm sorry, that was a terrible attempt at a joke.

Mmkay, according to my big dream dictionary, to dream that you give birth to a non-human creature means that you fear the outcome of some decision or project in your life.

My dad is a Cuban Jew.

So, I kind of am.

Elphie, I'm gonna steal your dream, even though I never, ever want to give birth.

*giggle* I love it when my dad puts on RENT. Especially when he starts singing along to "I'll Cover You".

*holds up hands* I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just amused by the sentence, which, if read incorrectly, implies that there are so few jewish latinos that they can all be listed in a single Wikipedia article.

Emcee, I think that there should have been a comma between "cuban" and "chinese" in that article, because it would make more sense.

Mandi, that makes a lot of sense, actually. College, anyone?

YAY, Atrias! Babies! I've got it real bad. I spent the last five minutes of my bio review session today making faces at this adorable baby boy who kept smiling at me, instead of paying attention to the teacher telling us about hormones. Oops.

No, there's actually a type of food that's classified as "Cuban Chinese." I know people who have had it, but when asked to describe it, they... couldn't.

Was it a list of famous ones, or just arbitrary people?

Not too often, Em, but it's not unheard of that she sleeps that late.

I'm honestly completely starting to buy into the whole biological clock thing. I'm not even particularly fond of babies, but now every time I see wone I can't help but think, "Awww, I want one." It's some weird maternal yearning. And then my sense of logic kicks in, and I know that I'm nowhere near ready for motherhood. It's very strange, though.

Elphie, The Maury Show used to do episodes about girls like us. They'd make them wear "bellies" a la 10 Things I Hate About You, and take care of real babies. Then again, most of those girls were about 13 and were actually trying to get pregnant.

Yeah, there are fusion restaurants like Asia De Cuba, and when you think about it, fried rice and paella really aren't all that different from one another.

It's kind of like puppies. Even people who don't like animals, or want a pet, think puppies are cute.

I know a restaurant that serves both Cuban and Chinese food, but I don't know that the dishes are actually mixed.

That's true, Em, but it's more intense than that with the baby thing. At least for me. I'm convinced that there's some sort of biology involved.

Atrias, I think I saw one of those episodes! Those 12 year old girls were having sex every night, trying to get pregnant, but then they had to take care of a baby for like, an hour, and they changes their minds? That one? That show is so trashy, but I love it.

I think puppies are cute, but I don't want one. I do, however, want a baby. a lifetime of Banality

There's no doubt biology involved, though.

Yes! I miss those episodes, now it's just a "Who's the Father of My Baby Because I Can't Remember Due to the Fact That I'm a Nympho Slut" show.

I actually told one of my friends that my biological clock was ticking on Friday. She whacked me over the head.

I do want children but I know that I couldn't handle it right now. Working with children does helps that "yearning" I guess, then they're not such a novelty and you can consider it much more realistically.

I got hot salsa when I meant to get medium. Usually, I love hot, but I just wasn't in the mood for it this time.
