In less than a week I'm 18(drinking age here) so party time! and in 2 weeks I will be in New York ready to have the best time of my life! Whoop whoop!
About the teaching thing-there are ALWAYS teaching shortages here, there are basically no incentives to wanna teach(not that it's gonna stop me....) You can always come and teach in New Zealand if you want teaching jobs and nice beaches!

Weiner was a dog at the camp where I work during the summer. He was 15 years old last year, and had only made the quarter-mile trek down to camp a few times and couldn't make it back up on his own. Most of us doubted he could make it through another winter. He lived for the summers spent at camp interacting with the kids and we thought that his inability to participate much last summer would be the final nail in the coffin.
Well, I was down there for a training last weekend, and the camp director invited us to his house for dessert with his family. As we got out of the car, there was Weiner making his way from behind the house. You could just see it in his eyes that he knew camp was just around the corner. Not only was his tail wagging but his entire back end was too. He looked almost like a different dog. He went through 3 rounds of antibiotics over the winter and was moving around better than he had since I began working there three years ago. I was glad to see that this living legend that has brightened the day of over 20,000 campers over the years is going to be a part of the place he loves so much for at least one more summer.

He also has his own Facebook profile, and nobody seems to have any idea who started it.
He keeps us updated on what he's up to which usually constitutes sleeping...

... I could see this winning the "most addictive thread" award.
... I feel guilty for secretly disliking most of my "friends" and for making excuses not to hang out with them.
... But I'm really proud of myself for going vegan and sticking with it :)
ahmelie: Are you implying that twinkies and lesbians are bad? BITCH!
#132re: Things you just want to let out....
Posted: 5/19/07 at 3:13amI'm guilty of that too, aspen. With the friend I ranted about in my earlier posts.

Well, rose, I don't think you should feel guilty for wanting to enjoy your leisure time. And I'm gonna try not to feel guilty, either.
We should start a support group! Friends Don't Let Friends Hang Out With Friends.

Posted: 5/19/07 at 3:33amThere was this muscley tattooed redneck guy on the Riverwalk today. These types of guys normally worry me when I'm walking because I worry about getting mugged or similar, but it turned out he had a thing he just wanted to let out so it ended happily.

I'd join too. I make excuses not to hang out with people all the time, just becuase they bore me or some other stupid reason like that.
This thread is definitely addictive. I feel like I want to let out every issue I've been having lately here. But that would not be a good idea--you would all think I was psycho!

I quit my job as a high school nurse after three weeks. I don't care if a student has ringworm or if the science teacher wants his blood pressure checked every day. I hate fixing kids' glasses and fifteen year olds having to take a nap in the nurse's office because they're pregnant.
I don't work at my other job for another two weeks and I will have no income for this time.
My newly landscaped yard looks fabulous.
My eleven year old son has started rearranging all the cars around in the driveway and I haven't asked him why.

It seems he's mowing the yard around the house and is moving cars to give him more room. He's parked the jeep and my beetle by the barnlot.
I didn't ask him because I wanted to see when he was going to tell me and what reason he was giving.

I have a clarinet exam on Monday morning at 10am and I haven't even looked at the hideous amount of scales I have to learn yet.
Chelsea just won the FA Cup! YAY! COME ON YOU BOYS IN BLUE!
And in other news, my work at an Architect's firm for next week is falling through and I'm p'ed off about it.

Oh, but the fact that he's even getting in a car and driving it isn't an issue?

Dottie-I fixed it! I didn't want to throw out the entire panful of food, so today I sauteed some garlic, added some of the HH, and added a couple tablespoons of tomato paste. Now I like it!

Posted: 5/19/07 at 3:18pmIt's not the end of the world. Maths isn't everyone's area, and it needn't be. In fact, academics aren't everyone's area full stop.

i think the voting world is crazy at the mo. not only are the people who voted melinda off american idol crazy, but now andrew lloyd webber has voted off my fave in the joseph programme here in the Uk.
people have no taste.
plus i have a hairspray audition on monday, i;m having major vocal issues and i'm not feeling good about it at all. and i've been waiting for this for two years, when the last set of auditions were cancelled at the last minute when the london production lost their bid to las vegas. two years waiting, now it seem like it will all be decided this week, and i'm not on top form. argh.
