Complete side topic - is it harder for an gay Asian guy to get a date than a straight Asian guy? We were discussing this a few days ago. A co-worker said his Asian friend, who's a liberal 30-something successful and financially stable doctor who owns his own house, finds it IMPOSSIBLE to get any hook-ups on those online dating services when he lists that he's Asian, but the calls and messages come flying in when he doesn't post his race. It gave me some pause. I've never dated an Asian guy, but I think it's just coincidence, plus I would be worried that he's a stereotypically conservative sexist pig controlled by his wealthy parents. But if he was gay, you'd assume the former (and probably the latter) wouldn't be true. So what gives?

Tiff-- regarding gay and straight asian dudes.. I just don't know..since I'm not one and only when folks are tweaked or in bad light do they even assume I may be part...

however..... the "meet up ads" for gay dudes out here in the Emerald City make it seem like if you were Asian, you'd have to beat the dates off (don't get a dirty mind, y'all!) with a stick :)
