On what day of the week does the new issue come out? Wednesday?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure. My friend freelances for it, though. Why don't you just read it online for free?

Oh, because I like picking it up at a newsstand when I arrive in the city! But I don't want to get one tomorrow if a new one comes out on Friday.

I have one in my hands right now, and it's for the week starting June 19th to June 25th. I picked it up yesterday, the 18th.

I get one in the mail every Tuesday, even though I have never ordered it. Or paid for it or subscribed or anything. Does anyone know why? Does this happen to anyone else?

Yeah, I got it too starting last week. It's not even addressed to anyone who exists at my house. It's odd because I don't even live in New York.

It's addressed with my last name but a different first name. I live in NJ.

Yeah, that's exactly mine too. I also live in Jersey, but the northwest corner.

Hmm. Well I live in NY, it's addressed to me, and I've been getting it every week since maybe January or February. It's not a particularly interesting magazine, but I do check concerts and stuff in it every once in a while. I'll still probably be annoyed on the day that it finally stops coming as quickly and randomly as it started.

For the past two weeks I've been getting issues sent to me, with my last name and "Lauren" as the first.

I called them today and asked about it and they said that the subscriptions would stop.

I felt bad because I thought that maybe some lady with my last name had subscribed and they sent them to my place instead.

Me too with the incorrect first name. It's not even close.

How strange.

Thank God I'm not the only one. This started getting delivered to my house a little over a week ago under the first name of Jennifer. My parents probably suspect that since neither of them subscribed to it, I must have done so under an alias of Jennifer. I fear what they think there son has been up to.

I just checked out the website and typed in the 15 digit number appearing on the cover label. It had my e-mail, last name, and a different first name. No idea how this happened!

Also, it said that I've received 2 issues, which is true, and that I have zero left that are going to be sent to me apparently and shows $0.00 as a charge. Updated On: 6/20/08 at 12:28 AM

This does sound strange. There has to be something behind it if it's happening to so many people. Perhaps their readership has dropped and they think if you read a few free issues, you'll order a full subscription. Or start buying the mag off the streets.

I just did the account check too, and mine is exactly as described too. It was under my email too, but not my first name. Oh well, we get all sorts of free stuff here too under different names too. It's weird.

Yeah... I'm still getting my regular magazine in the mail on Wednesday.

But now my current-roommate is getting one addressed to her (same last name, but 'Jeremy' as first name)

And my former-roommates are getting one addressed to me (same last name, but 'Punami' as first name)

I just hope it's a huge fluke and there's not gonna be any "Surprise! You've been billed!" flyers a-comin'.

Oh my God! This happened to me yesterday, so happy to see this thread.
I got it on the mail yesterday, and it was addressed to someone with my last name (a very uncommon last name) and it has "Megan" as the first name. It is really odd, especially since I live in FL. How weird is that? I wonder what's that about. I have never signed up for it, or gone to their website, or even given them my e-mail address, let alone my actual mailing address. Plus, it's not even my name, hell the name they have is not even the right gender!

I think that as long as they don't get your name or address just right then you can't claim they're sending you stuff you didn't ask for. Very clever.,

The freaky part then is how did they get my actual first and last name and then my e-mail as well?

At least with the name being off, they can't bill me if they had my credit card info as well, no such "Jennifer" exists to my knowledge. But I checked the site and it has a $0.00 balance so I'm not concerned monetary-wise. Just offputting knowing that they got my info in the first place to get it to me. At least the magazine is pretty decent!

If the magazine was more Broadway based, I would be thrilled.
But it pretty much sucks.
