No "Top Chef: The Musical"?
Wow - Tiffani really is a hag, and Dave really is a drama queen.
I think I want Harold to win because he is the only person I can imagine running a successful kitchen.

^ I agree :) And, I actually like Stephen much more after seeing this. Has anyone been to his website? (my dial-up internet won't load it on this stupid computer)
After watching the showdown between the three, I've come to the conclusion (though I've thought it all along), that Tom C. is an ASS!

what a bull**** decision. How did tiffani stay?
Poor Dave - if he had just thrown some bread on with a bit of garlic and oil oil, he could have had his third dish. Poor boy.
Tiffini - bleech.
Go Harold.
No one really liked Tiffani's dishes, yet she's the one going to the finals. That's just so wrong. Like Tom C. has never made a mistake in his kitchen.

I think they made a mistake too.
Dave's mistake was recoverable - he could have made a third delicious dish and his waiting customer could have been eventually satisfied.
Tiffani's mistake was that her food just wasn't delicious in these challenges, and nobody was satisfied.
So overall, I think Dave should have stayed.
The more I think about Dave being eliminated because he left out a dish still puzzles me. I have been to plenty of top restaurants and have seen some faux pas' take place.
It reminds me of an incident at Picholine where I had a reservation and I wasn't seated until an hour later. Normally I would have gone somewhere else, but it was for a special occasion. To make it up, the restaurant comped half of our meal, gave us free drinks and dessert as well. I think what also helped is that I didn't bitch and moan(which I think they appreciated).
A friend used to work at one of Tom C's restaurants and I can't wait to ask her about things that took place.
Another Dave fan here as well! Tiffini's dish for the "high protein, high carb" was too salty. Her dish for the poker table was, not really finger food. So I just can't see why they booted Dave for something that minor. I have been at a number of resturants where minor mix-ups have happened.
Maybe the producers are keeping Tiffini on so we'll all be so happy when Harold wins?
They kept Tiffani for better TV...at least that's their theory, I suppose.
I cant stand to look at her or hear her voice anymore.
Though I was also getting very sick of Dave's childish behaviour. We know Tiffani annoys you, but put your big boy pants on and suck it up! Geez!
Should've been Harold and LeeAnn in the finale, but two likeable, funny and talented cooks? How boring!

Harold and Lee Ann would have been my ideal final two as well, but I loved Dave (even though I agree he can be a big baby). I know that forgetting the third dish was a pretty big mistake, but at least he apologized, owned up to it and didn;t make any excuses. Tom just wanted to get rid of him--because he likes Tiff a lot--so he kept harping on what a tragedy it would be if it were a "real world" situation. Eh. So room service would correct the mistake and comp a meal or something. They didn;t touch Tiffani's dish...to me that's worse. And it just seems unfair since Dave's snacks were selected as the best by the poker players and Tiff wasn't picked as anyone's favorite.
I hope Harold wins it all!
I watched a few episodes of this show during one of their marathons. I enjoyed it, but it's a strange concept for home viewers to judge food that they can't taste.
Other shows of this nature make sense...you can see the fashions on "Project Runway" and hear the singing on "American Idol", but how can you just food by hearing other's reactions?
You truly end up rooting for the personality and not their food.
I think it is also better television to have the goody guy go against, the beeyotch.
Very few will want Tiffani to win.
And, when I saw the previews of asking former cast members what kitchen they would want to work in, oy.
I hope Harold wins, but I have a feeling that regardless the exposure from the show will be enough that he, Lee Ann, Dave and Tiffani get some changes they otherwise never would have had.
Great observation newgirl. It is impossible for us to really judge anything but the visual and concept. Dave's winning dish, mac/cheese w/truffles looked disgusting to me. Glad it was deemed the best cause I like him and it was funny that mac and cheese won over those gourmet palates.

I too, wish the final two had been Harold and Lee Anne. But whatever. My guess is that they already have it in their heads to have Harold win it all, and are keeping Tiffani around for TV entertainment. If Tiffani wins, I'll be shocked. She's not humble enough to be a top chef. She reminds of the head chef of a restaurant I once worked at. Uber-sensitive, and if a customer sent food back to the kitchen, she'd get all over the waitstaff about it. "There's nothing wrong with that dish. How dare they send it back..yadda yadda yadda." This was the type of chef who was more concerned about his own ego than satisfying the customer. That's how I see Tiffani.
I cannot remember what exactly she said when they were talking about the high rollers, and the fact that they were not amazed - but she made me to a spit take, as did Dave, when she responded with something like "well, didn't I amaze you?"
I cannot remember the exact quote - but the whole point was no, she had not, but just assumed she had.
Harold is so cute. Even with that slightly disgusting T-Shirt he keeps on wearing all the time.
Anyone else looking forward to tonight?
I'm there.

I am currently watching the marathon. I did not realize how much Stephen bothers me!!! "educate, educate, educate!!!"
But in the end i'm rooting for harold, I think he is a wonderful chef. Harold has the potential to be a successful chef in my opinion.

Hee hee, Em. Stephen WAS a pompous ass, but he came off a bit better in the reunion. He apologized to Candice, which was cool.
I'm hoping my boy Harold wins! I just wish Lee Ann was in the final two with him.
SPOILER ALERT:
YAY HAROLD! YOU RULE!

Whoo hoo!
Great karma moment: Tiff getting busted for saying Dave took her directive for dessert, not knowing they had found out that the entire dessert--from conception to creation--was 100% Dave's! Loved it! I will give her credit for being ambitious with the 10 dishes...quite an undertaking. Harold seemed to be really consistent and everything was well thought out (and that beef looked delicious! I was drooling). And I also like that it's not the Harold show all the time...he treats his fellow chefs with consideration and courtesy, and they respect him in return.
She pissed me off when she said to Harold. "My back just walked into your knife" when she found out that all four sous chefs wanted Harold to win. WTF? Yeah, blame Harold for being a human being and showing his fellow chefs respect, thus being liked. It's all his fault that no one liked HER. Sour, sour grapes. And her final comments? That she's upset she lost the 100K b/c now she can't pay off her debts and take a vacation? Meanwhile, Harold plans to use most of it as seed money for his restaurant.
All in all I enjoyed this show immensely.
