Whoo hoo! re: Top Chef!

Great karma moment: Tiff getting busted for saying Dave took her directive for dessert, not knowing they had found out that the entire dessert--from conception to creation--was 100% Dave's! Loved it! I will give her credit for being ambitious with the 10 dishes...quite an undertaking. Harold seemed to be really consistent and everything was well thought out (and that beef looked delicious! I was drooling). And I also like that it's not the Harold show all the time...he treats his fellow chefs with consideration and courtesy, and they respect him in return.

She pissed me off when she said to Harold. "My back just walked into your knife" when she found out that all four sous chefs wanted Harold to win. WTF? Yeah, blame Harold for being a human being and showing his fellow chefs respect, thus being liked. It's all his fault that no one liked HER. Sour, sour grapes. And her final comments? That she's upset she lost the 100K b/c now she can't pay off her debts and take a vacation? Meanwhile, Harold plans to use most of it as seed money for his restaurant.

All in all I enjoyed this show immensely.

Thanks blue! I have caught the shows I have missed, now I'll just have to be on the look out for when they will air the finale again.

I'm not surprised at the results. Did you see the television poll, 93% wanted Harold to win. And, Tiffani lying through her teeth about Dave's dessert!! Though, Dave continues to make himself look bad (especially since everytime they showed him, he was pouring himself another glass of wine). We get it, you don't like Tiffani.

i was unsure who would win till the very end. I loved the show.
Dave is so creative and talented. I hope he finds a great job.
Lorraine Bracco is hilarious and down to earth. She seemed to love Tiffani's ballsyness.

I am sure they edited so that we were led to believe that Tiffany had a chance.

Dottie, I said it after the reunion and comletely agree with you, Dave needs therapy! His anger makes him actually twitch! WTF?

Tiffany is a smarmy jerk. The "duality" she was talking of was schizophrenia. She needs more than therapy.

Harold is a darling.

but most of all....I love Lee Ann. I hate to cook and I want to work with her.

I think the finale would have been much more interesting with Harold and Leanne. Though I thought Tom was a bit too vocal with his displeasure. Was he a judge (not very impartial), or a "Tim Gunn" like moderator?

Hmm. I liked Tom, but he wasn't Tim Gunn-like (gotta love the Gunn) insofar as he didn't function as a mentor the way Tim did on Runway. Also, Tim was never in on the judging. Tom was strictly a judge (I think he was the one they wre most interested in pleasing), though he DID have his favorites--Tiffani being among them.

He was an a-hole.

I also hated Gail.

and Billy Joel's wife was a terrible host. Only Kristi Yamaguchi was worse this season.

That's Billy Joel's wife?! I had no idea. I kept wondering, where did that find that ______ (insert any word you please).

Since Harold won (YEA!! I did not like Tiffany, she was a bigger b**ch than Omarosa I think) and Dave doesn't have a job I wonder if Harold will offer Dave a job since he'll be opening he's own restaurant and he did say he would need help.

OH! Tiffany lied. She tried to take the credit for the dessert dish that she had nothing to do with. That really torques me off.

I wish it had been Dave to win but I did like Harold too. Mainly I’m glad that Tiffany didn't win.

I'm very happy Harold won, I hated Tiffani. Did anyone else start laughing when she cried at the end? hehe

heh...I didn't laugh, but I was kind of surprised when she was like "boo hoo now I can't pay off my debt and go on vacation." WTF? That money is supposed to be for starting a restaurant, not to help you curb your spending habits, biyotch. I'm so glad Harold won!

What did Tiff mean when she said to Harold" I just ran my back into your knife." She said that after she and Harold had been evaluated by the judges and they went back to the kitchen while the judges decided who would win. I know all 4 of the helpers said Harold should win but Harold had nothing to do with Dave and Stephen turning on her.

I know, Tweety. All it meant was Tiffani--being Tiffani--was unable to see how her OWN behavior simply turned the other chefs against her. Instead, she blames Harold for being backstabbing. I don't know how people thinking Harold = nice guy/should be winner equates with him backstabbing Tiff, but who knows what goes on in her head.

As I recall, Stephen said he wanted to be on Tiffani's team just to make it interesting to himself.

I was MIA when this thread was going on, but just wanted to add my love for the show AND to say that I saw Mr. Top Chef himself this morning!

Harold, exiting the subway in the W. Village, hopefully because that's where his restaurant is/will be. Can't wait for it and can't wait for TC season 2!

I want to have his man-babies.

I, too, am anxiously awaiting the new season. I kind of hope they step it up a bit, though. The first season, entertaining as it was to us foodies, was a bit...bland. Yes, Stephen and Big Red were interestingly snarky and hateable, but everyone else was pretty much blotto boring. We need DRAMA on reality TV, honey...otherwise, it's just a group cooking show.

I need to see someone get a rolling pin thrown at their head.

Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.
