Fox Movie Channel (Now FXM Retro) used to run BACHELOR FLAT regularly.
Randyk2, have you gotten the chance to see HIGH TIME. It was released on blu-ray not too long ago. Great cast too: Bing Crosby, Tuesday and Fabian! Directed by Blake Edwards.
Another early Tuesday Weld film was RALLY ROUND THE FLAG BOYS. Her co-star was her future "Dobie Gillis" classmate, Dwayne Hickman. Joan Collins steals the movie though.
Hi,
I have heard of the movie but I haven't seen High Time yet. I'll check it out one of these days. Thanks. I think Blake Edwards also directed Tuesday in Soldier in the Rain.
And a Tuesday Weld Love Thread is not complete without mentioning SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE co-starring Mamie Van Doren. Now available through the Warner Archives Collection.
1965's I'LL TAKE SWEDEN is a lot of fun. Her boy-toy is Frankie Avalon.
Weld certainly co-starred with some major teen idols. Fabian, Frankie Avalon...
...and ELVIS! In WILD IN THE COUNTRY!
Clifford Odets (!) wrote the screenplay.

@Randyk2: Ralph Nelson directed SOLDIER IN THE RAIN
Love Tuesday in those movies!
I have Wild in the Country and I'll Take Sweden on DVD.
Sex Kittens go to College wasn't a good film; but that might be the best movie title ever:)Sorry about the Blake Edwards error.

No need to apologize.
ANTHONY PERKINS and TUESDAY WELD made a great team in 1968's PRETTY POISON.
I love the film's tagline:
"Wait 'till you see what they do to his aunt - to the night watchman - to her mother."
Yes! Pretty Poison and Lord Love a Duck are my favorite 1960' Tuesday Weld movies.

...one of the ultimate Tuesday Weld movies, and one of her BEST roles was in George Axelrod's LORD LOVE A DUCK.
Tuesday was adorable and funny in Lord Love a Duck. It was interesting that the only real "dramatic" scenes was when Roddy McDowell told Barbara Ann, "There's been an accident". Tuesday was sensational handling those following, intense moments in the film.
Best 70's movies - Play it as it Lays. I only saw this film a couple of times. And, it's been awhile. Paired up with Anthony Perkins, again. I can't find it on DVD. Tuesday got a Golden Globe nomination for her performance. Also, spectacular in Looking for Mr. Goodbar, which I don't think is available on DVD for some reason. Tuesday Weld's one and only Oscar nomination.

I haven't seen PLAY IT AS IT LAYS in years and years. I would love to get my hands on a copy.
Weld was pretty terrific in LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR. The reason that hasn't been released on DVD or bluray is because of the steep music licensing rights for all that 70s disco music on the soundtrack. That film pretty much featured every major disco chart topper of the day. It's a pretty damn near excellent time capsule of that period.
Interesting how Tuesday Weld got the name "Tuesday". She was born Susan Ker Weld. She had trouble pronouncing "Susan" and it came out sounding like, "Tu-Tu". That become Tuesday's nickname as a child. Later her mother extended it to "Tuesday" for her career and eventually it was legally changed.

The Eagles sang about searching for the daughter of the Devil himself; searching for an angel in white. Waiting for a woman who's a little of both...could that be our Tuesday? I don't mind her playing the sweetie once in awhile:)

Two icons in one film! I love THE CINCINNATI KID!
Cool Tuesday Weld reference in second verse of Donald Fagen classic, "New Frontier".

Somebody already mentioned this movie:
Heartbreak Hotel - 1988
I like this movie. You sort of have to suspend reality. David Keith is good in this picture. But, I never could be totally convinced he was Elvis. lol Tuesday did this movie when she was about 45 years old. Past her prime perhaps in Hollywood standards when it comes to movie actresses. But, she is absolutely adorable and charming in this cute little flick. I love the relationship she has in the movie with her kids. Especially, her son. And, I love how he tries to protect her and goes so far out of his way to have mom meet Elvis. The other interesting thing about this movie is the fact Tuesday and Elvis dated (affair, if you want to call it that) briefly when they did Wild in the Country together back in 1961. In interviews, Tuesday always had good things to say about The King. Personally, I was never a big Elvis fan, but I dig this movie for what it is.

I have a soft-spot for HEARTBREAK HOTEL as well. At 45 Weld and around the time the film was released she had a career that spanned four decades...incredible!
^
A survivor indeed. Tuesday is the total package:)
Cutie! A couple of these pictures are of a very young Tuesday Weld. She was a child model from an very early age, with the questionable insistence of her mother.

I've just finished watching LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR. The movie still packs a wallop and it's easily Diane Keaton's finest performance, yes even topping IMO her performance in ANNIE HALL which was basically Keaton plating Keaton in a performance tailored to her talents, not so GOODBAR. GOODBAR allowed her to stretch her acting muscles and tread outside of her comfort zone and she hits a grand slam home run.
TUESDAY WELD earned a very well deserved Academy Award nomination. She brightens up every scene she's in...I loved her performance.
It's a shame Paramount Pictures cannot untangle the music publishing rights that is holding back this film from getting a proper DVD or blu-ray release. The film deserves better than to sit in the studio vaults languishing in obscurity.
