A Question of Guilt - (TV) 1978
Another seductive, excellent performance from Tuesday Weld.
Woman is charged with murdering her two children.
But, its her lifestyle that is really on trial.

The Rainmaker -1982
Tuesday Weld and Tommy Lee Jones. This was actually a live stage performance filmed for television. It was shot in front of an audience in Utah. I've never seen Tuesday Weld do this kind of thing before. She is terrific in the play. The entire cast comes out at the end of the play to take their bows, curtain calls and encore. They receive a standing ovation. An audience member even brings flowers up on the stage for Tuesday while Tommy Lee Jones seems especially smitten with her.

One of Tuesday's greatest performances. Unavailable on DVD, blu-ray or any other home video format. Universal should license it to Criterion. Until then here it is in all it's glory. Uncut from a Sundance Channel airing.
PLAY IT AS IT LAYS (1972) - Tuesday Weld, Anthony Perkins, Tammy Grimes. Directed by Frank Perry.
I discovered the full movie on YouTube a couple weeks ago. Seen it a few times since! It was a divisive movie when first released. People seem to love it or hate it. The film fascinates me. You can get a copied DVD version of Play It As It Lays on the attached link. They also have a bunch of Tuesday's great TV movie performance. The quality of these discs varies. But, most are pretty good. I am still hoping Play It As It Lays gets officially released on DVD. Tuesday and Anthony Perkins had great chemistry in this film and in Pretty Poison.

Tuesday Weld and Dwayne Hickman disliked each other off-camera. They fought all the time. But, perhaps that tension helped create on-screen magic. Actually, Dwayne Hickman has fond memories of Tuesday Weld as seen on a Dobie Gillis DVD interview. Tuesday was only 15 or 16 during the first season of the show. Dwayne Hickman was about 10 years older than her. I think that age difference helped contribute to the early friction. Plus, Tuesday was young and not as professional at that age. When she came back for a guest appearance in the third season (Birth of a Salesman) everyone on the set immediately noticed how much more serious and professional Tuesday had become. They even presented her with a cake. Tuesday would go on to be one of the finest and most diverse actresses of her generation.
I found a cute little musical tribute to Dobie Gilis and Thalia Menninger.
